Better meeting chat message awareness
Scenario 1: As a presenter trying to manage content and interact with the audience
I need to be aware when someone is trying to chat me in the meeting. I want DND to ignore chat messages from everyone, except participants in the meeting. The little icon in the meeting bar doesn’t suffice.
Scenario 2: Poor Audio
During a meeting the connection degrades and one person can no longer hear the other and they start yelling "Can you hear me, can you hear me?" I can hear them but they can't hear me so I type in the chat window "Yes I can hear you" and I notice the orange dot appear over the person's chat icon but they don't seem notice it and they're clicking all over the place except for the chat icon. So I'm just sending more messages hoping they open the chat window.
Scenario 3: Joined with Audio Off
I've recently been in a few meetings where the participant is talking but cannot hear me and doesn't realize their speakers are muted or super low. Again I proceed start sending chat messages hoping they will open the chat window and see what I'm telling them. I again can see the orange indicator pop-up as soon as hit send but again they're moving all around the screen with their mouse not noticing the chat indicator
It just needs to be more apparent to users that there's a chat message available during meetings. It shouldn't be too distracting but if someone has paused and asking "can you hear me?" it should grab their attention.
