ABILITY TO ORGAZINE THE SPEED DIAL GROUPS sort
Daniel N commented
If I look at my Poly Teams phone or the Teams website, all my speed dial contacts are sorted alphabetically. But, the Teams desktop app is sorted last added to first added! This doesn't make sense and there does not seem to be a way to force a sort order!
I can't stand the new Teams calls display format. I also can't believe that you can no longer pull up a full list of speed dial/other groups, but they are set off to the side of the history. This is worthless. To make it even worse, you can't alphabetize the members of the group. Was great the old way when you could see the entire group all at once in alpha order, and could see you teams availability status at-a-glace (red/yellow/green/etc.). PLEASE go back to the old display format!!!!!!
So many good comments and constructive suggestions here, but no action from Microsoft, sad. This is what happens when you have too many employees and stop listening.
Teams speed dial display is a big joke. Who is able to look it in random order (was previously in alphabethical order, which is better IMHO). Also the major space is now used with history call section, which cannot get any benefit for this luxurious space.
My strong suggestion is, that you will change the display towards the old one and give opportunity to the user to decide whether he wants to use aplhabethical or other order in speed dial...
This change is dreadful. Absolutely not user focused in any way shape or form.

Please change it back, it is very user unfriendly!!!!
The changes that you made to the CALLS screen are horrible. You cannot make it display the Speed dial list in alphabetical order. It appears to be in the order I added them. And now you have to scroll up & down to see your Speed dial contacts, before you could see them all on one screen. PLEASE PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE!
For anyone else who has lost functionality like adding, renaming, & deleting groups in the latest update to the desktop app, I found a workaround...
Open Teams in a web browser. It has the old view and settings. You can once again control your speed dial groups. I was able to rename a group, and after a few minutes, the change synced to my desktop app.
Microsoft please FIX this! The desktop app should not be a stripped-down version! Please let us control how this stuff appears. The 2 column speed dial portion is horrible. Let us make that wider, and/or let us rearrange so the speed dial can be above the history. Let us hide/minimize the history.
The changes are HORRENDOUS, back the way it was please. And at the very least, the speed dial should be alphabetical
I absolutely agree with everyone - the new Calls display in Teams is awful. Most of the screen is taken up with useless historical call information - I have a memory of my own and can remember who I have called and who called me. What I actually need to do my job is to see the status of colleagues in a gallery view so I can tell at a glance who is and isn't available for me to call. At the very least I would like to be given the choice of what to see, not have someone decide for me what is and isn't useful.

Groups are sorted by the date that the Group Name was modified/created in ascending order.
So, if you change the name of your first group, it will go to the bottom. To get it back to the top you would need to change the name of all of the ones above it.
Is it me or has the ability to create speed dial groups also disappeared with the interface update?
I be exact with Jim. I have the same suggestions.
Speed Dial contacts bigger and to sort and the call History smaller. The old version was really better.
And the call history don't work good. A lot of numbers were deleted and I can't see who was calling in the past.
I'm on the switchboard I with this new teams version I can't work !!!
Suggestion for the new Calls layout - allow users to expand the Speed Dial pane to view more of the Speed Dial contacts and less of the call History pane if desired. I use the Speed Dial groups as a way to group my more frequently contacted team members and view their presence status at a glance. This way I can see their name/face/presence and one-click call or chat if they're available. The new layout makes this more difficult as I now have to expand each Speed Dial group and scroll to view a given contact.

This request is even more important with the recent changes to the Calls view. The 10-key dialpad now takes up the left column, history is given far too much real-estate in the middle, and Speed-dial gets a small column on the right with no ability to switch from tile to list view or change the sorting (whatever the sorting is.... by when added?)
As one person said earlier, this seems so simple. Every other phone system has some way to accomplish this. What I need is a GLOBAL contact list for any user to dial up one of our 400 retail outlets. These phone numbers need to be available to all Business Voice users. This would have been a deal breaker had we know Business Voice could NOT do this.
Contacts seem very poorly put together. There is speed dial with groups, but can't order, there is contacts, without groups, and can't change order, then there is contacts in chat that is with groups but can't order. In chats, what is the purpose of the group if you can't create a chat on the group with all the groups members. Not sure how much focus group work has gone into how people work with collab products like this.

Please reply to this request and tell us when this is planned to be completed. It is a simple (or should be) implementation.

Also easy transfer to contacts and speeddials should be possible
