PIV card authentication for new Linux client
I'm a US government employee who uses a RHEL 7.6 laptop for work. My agency recently adopted Microsoft Teams, which I've enjoyed adding to my workflow. So I was very excited to see that there's a Linux-native Teams client in development. I've been able to download and install the Linux teams client without a problem. When I enter my email address, I'm correctly redirected to my organization's login page. The problem: my organization requires me to authenticate with my PIV card, but when I attempt to do that, I get an error. I've attached screenshots of the login page and the error. I'm able to login to Teams with my PIV card and the web-based teams client on Google Chrome without a problem.
Would it be possible to support PIV authentication in the Linux teams client?

If you have kerberos authentication via PIV available, you can have teams read your kerberos ticket using some options for `teams` on the command line:
teams --auth-server-whitelist=*.<dept>.gov –auth-negotiate-delegate-whitelist=*.<dept>.gov
However, I agree that direct support of PIV would be very useful.
