WORK FROM HOME status icon
This proposition is to simply add an extra status icon (top left of the portrait) to signify WFH. (like a Home pin)
Given that so many people in the world are working from home, knowing that some are from home and some are from office would be great!
This will be a great feature. I have a number of users in different offices around the world and being able to know if someone is working form the office or from home will be a great help, especially with a number of offices allowing staff back in the office. I can see that gradually more and more staff will be returning to the office and being able to set up a meeting with someone in a boardroom as an example will depend on being able to tell if that person will be working from the office on that day.

I agree that this should complement the current status. With me being in IT, I've had this requested multiple times within my company. We are planning on a "hybrid return to office" plan in the coming months and it will be more fragmented than ever and a WFH status would be very helpful when not sure how to best meet with individuals.
It could also be trained to detect the network and remember your status on that network - so it changes automatically.
As the COVID-19 pandemic should change how people work : some days from home, some days at the office, it would be great to know who's working where by a simple glance at MS Shifts. Especially if your teams is large or in different locations.

Should be both "WORK FROM HOME" and "WORK FROM OFFICE" or something like that. Nice to know if people are actually at the office down the hall.
Yes please add this like Stephen said it should have happened after COVID-19 first started, not over a year later!!!
We shouldn't have to suggest this, it should just be implemented as it makes sense.
Very eager to see this feature come in as a simple toggle on / toggle off.
Stretch target being some intelligence around Teams (and Microsoft) knowing when an individual normally starts their day and just prompting / alerting / pop-up and ask "where are you working from today?"
Just as a reminder would be good from day to day.

So everyone can see my status corresponding to my current location - not only WFH, but "HomeOffice", 'In train', 'at customer', 'in Sydney office', 'in LA office', etc
This was raised 8 months ago, why has it not been implemented. Common sense should prevail rather than how many votes a post gets. Microsoft has a strange way of prioritising and making changes, often too late!! It's 2020 Microsoft please catch up with the rest of the world...
I shouldn't be surprised that this post was raised in March and it is still not implemented. Microsoft would have to be the slowest global company to make quick adaptive changes that would benefit their customers. I see that Cisco Jabber implemented it, so why is it taking so long?

I have some users in our company that are interested by such a feature, to have a second badge for that, just as Gabriel is proposing .
We could have a checkbox along side the status options in Teams to set the WFH additional info, or maybe pickup from the Outlook event' ^show as' when it set to "Working from Elsewhere".

Would be so great to have a Work from home toggle (depending on the location ?) like Slack display it ! It would be a time saver issue for meetings.

@Duayne Barr: That's actually the issue. Most people working from home just want to have an extra status over their current status. i.e. I'm working normally, but from my home rather than the office.
The current system replaces your current status rather than complementing it. The only workaround is to set a status message, though by doing this, you are polluting people's screens, and it becomes unreadable if you have 10 or 20 people doing the same.

The better place for it may be in Outlook. Like the Out Of Office but Work From Home. Users usually schedule their WFH in advance and having it there would help people scheduling meetings via scheduling assistant. The TEAMs status usually shows the OOO along with available anyway.
