sound notification
The sound you updated to during the week of March 6 is HORRIBLE. Please give us an option to change sounds for chat notifications the same way we can change sounds for the phone calls

I agree with everyone here! Can we please have a way to customize all of the notifications within our individual app? Come on Microsoft! Get with the times!

The default notification is obnoxious and annoying.
I want a sound, but I would like other choices for the notifications that would be more subtle such as the knock knock in Slack.

I loved Slack that had the knock knock sound - really missing that. Be great if we could have more sounds as today cannot tell if it is mail and reminder or Teams.

I miss so many messages because Teams does not play a loud enough sound or because it only displays a banner

I work on the same environment as my wife and we both use Teams, having the same notification sound is not helping us

any level of control over the sound for chat notifications would be a positive change

I miss notifications all the time because the default notification sound is so forgettable. Sounds like maybe you have different sound options for iOS and Android devices but not for PCs. Come ON. You wrote this. You can fix this~!

Totally agree. Please allow us to set the type of sound and the volume level. Not to be able to do so is a massive oversight.

For the love of all things holy, can you please give us the ability to customize our notification sound?
How difficult can this be?I am missing SO many incoming messages because i need a distinct notification sound. Allow those that dont want any sound to choose none, and the rest of us that want something unique to choose our own sounds.
This is counter-productive as it is now!

Please changed the sound notification for Teams. I cannot stand it. It IS HORRIBLE and disturbing. There has to be an option. IT IS ANNOYING and counter-productive.

Yes sound needs worked on. We USFS is looking to lose skype soon and in skype for sound we can here a sound when someone skypes us and we can turn on sound to let us know when someone is currently typing to use in a reply. That is so beneficial. I am working on so many tasks as a help desk person I am not looking for highlights of unanswered teams messages so a sound to let me know someone has messaged me, or currently typing a response like skype would be so beneficial. Thanks.

I agree with every comment here. This is one of many things about Teams that I can't stand. Skype is so much better - sounds, much simpler interface, etc. My company is forcing this on everyone. Fix this sound issue, please, Microsoft !!! It's not as if you can't afford to put resources on this fix immediately!
While you're at it, please make it possible to separate the Chat Contacts list from the chats shown behind it. It's so frustrating to have to have all of that open at the same time.

How is this being so overlooked by development? These types of details are real reasons why management makes decisions to move to other messaging platforms.
Slack makes this super easy and simple. Little things like these are what causes shadow it to become a problem.

REALLY need to be able to change to a non-ding sound. The current sound sends my dog into fits! Which doesn't sound like a big deal until you have a shaking, drooling, panting, 85 lb furball trying to crawl onto your lap while you're working. Only to be repeatedly assaulted by the sound.

This is so necessary.

Why has this still not be implemented?

Agree 110%.
I have a hearing loss and this sound causes pain.
Only way to solve is to mute all the people one by one, but than i am missing important messages.
Muting the sound of my laptop is another option. But this is super frustrating as i am running all my daily video conference meetings via laptop audio.please give us a freedom to choose the sound and most important - its level.

Not only distracting but for those of us with hearing loss issues, the sound is hard to discern. It is not accessibility friendly.
