microphone and camera is always on
When calling in teams microphone and camera is always on.
it should be set to turned off by default and then we can choose to unmute our mic or open the camera.
Huge upvote on this. It should be the customer's decision whether to be displayed on camera, and "they can turn it off each time they join a meeting" is not at all respectful of user preferences. In today's work-from-home environment, my default is for camera to be off when I join, and then I turn it on after all of my family can see/hear that I am active in the meeting and stay offline. Audio should have the same feature, but is far less of a privacy risk than camera.

Our camera in the computer settings is on and grants access to Teams, but all we get is a gray panel with a camera icon with a line through it. The floating bar in Teams shows the camera is on, but it isn't. Is there another place to look?
Especially camera, it is a privacy and bandwidth issue. I know that app gives an option to change settings before actually joining a meeting, but when in rush it is easy to overlook these, so by default is should be turned off. MS Teams forces me to use external tool that physically blocks camera lens.
