Copy conversation link in a private channel
I'd like to be able to copy a conversation link in a private channel, like you can for a public channel. This presently doesn't exist. I would imagine the link would appear as a dead link (not authorized), to anyone not in the private channel.
Thank you for your feedback. The team is considering how to best add this feature. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

Major disappointment after explaining why private collaboration on docs needs to be in a private channel and not PM which doesn't anchor the convo on the doc like channels do.
Please add this MANDATORY feature in the desktop client.
How are we supposed to share quickly a private message to our co-workers ??
Yes, please, we need this to reference teams posts. Don't see why a link shouldn't just block anyone without access, it works for non-members of Team.

It's possible with some steps.. see attached file.

Any update on this??

A solution should include the ability to also link to a private channel. Thank you for considering!
Please provide update on how to share a link to a Teams private channel? (Why wouldn't this be a obvious feature for Teams?) Thank you.
Any update to deliver that feature ?
Really need this feature
Badly needed as a teacher. Students are in private channels, but first year students are not used to working with Teams, they are flooded with info from different teachers and subjects. I just want to be able to send a message on our electronic learning environment Moodle to each student group with their link to their private lab channel on Teams. So Moodle is the only platform they need to navigate.
everyone is losing track of messages in my teams because of this limitation on private channels.
This is a no brainer, just mark it as unauthorized when the user has no privileges to access the private channel.
Please...so hard to get people to adopt Teams because of all those little details that seem so obvious to anyone who spent some time online in the past 20 years.
We really need this feature. Otherwise, it's near impossible to find our way back to a conversation thread amongst all the other discussions happening in real-time.
We need this feature also...

This just inconsistent. We're struggling to get people to use Teams for the true "Team" features, such as posts, and the ambiguous nature of copy link makes it even more difficult for people to adopt. Can we please have this facility?

This is essential for me to get people to actually use Teams. I want to email a committee and have them just click a link to go directly to a thread, rather than say 'go to Teams, then go to x team, then y channel, then look for the thread titled zzzz.' People are way less likely to do the latter than the former.

I would like this as well. I want to put the link in my reminders.

This would be extremely useful. People in my teams often lose track of messages, and it's pretty annoying having to either send myself an email or go to the web app and reconstruct the URL to link directly.
The links already work and correctly check if people are in the private channel before bringing them to the linked message.
Please, allow me to copy the link.
It's super useful to copy the link and stick it in OneNote or an email at times.
Of course, if they are not part of the Private channel, they can be shown a generic error message.
I could see how it might be tricky to have a link that only works for members of a private channel. It would be incredibly beneficial for our leadership team to have a link to our private channel
Obviously some security traps that needed to be worked, but product road map drove getting private channels out there as a priority - which I agree was the right thing to do.
Hopefully, the get a link for the private channel will be available soon so it can work seamlessly from the desktop app.
the workaround is OK, but annoying when everyone in my company (22,000) typically uses the app rather than the teams browser site.
