Linux Desktop Notification system
The Linux client should use the Linux Desktop Notification system to increase visibility of new message notifications. Currently notifications pop up on the same virtual desktop as the client itself; pointless if you are not looking at that desktop at the time.

I'm using KDE 5.22 (latest version as of this post) on Ubuntu. The notification pops up on my 3rd monitor (positioned vertically) in the bottom right corner, so I usually miss the notification. It doesn't help that for video/voice calls there is usually a long delay between the notification and the ringing sound so I usually end up missing most calls initially. It's really annoying. An option to select the display the notification is placed on and even the position would be very welcome. Or, as others have said, integrate with the native Gnome/KDE notification system...

I am using Gnome for my desktop environment, and the notifications are super glitchy. When a notification comes in, it first shows the last chat message in the current chat two or three times; then it shows the actual notification two or three times.
This is still NOT working in version 1.3.00.30857
I'd like that feature too because intergrating it with linux notification system makes it simpler and easier when you use DND.
The teams notification system is broken. Using the Linux Desktop Notification would improve the user experience.
Not using Linux Desktop Notification system is realy anoying when you are working in a tiling windowmanager like i3.
