Delete folder without having to delete all items in that folder first
When deleting a folder in a Files tab of a Channel, you will get the following message if it contains files.
"You have to delete all the items in this folder before you can delete the folder."
This is very time-consuming for those with nested folders. We would like to be able to delete everything in the folder just as you would on a Windows Desktop.

Hello, why is this only on private channels, how is it different of public channels in which i can delete a dir with dirs with dirs (etc) with files from the root of files of the channel..?
By syncing channel's files it's ok it deletes everything
Thanks in advance -

Yeah, this seems like the most basic of functionality. I certainly don't want to spend the next couple of days digging into separate folders to find every one of thousands of nested files. Not sure how this one slipped through the QA testing.

This is an important update! The workflow is cut so much and it's really not fun to manage data via Teams or SharePoint.

Really need to move on this one, with the retirement of IE it's even more urgent because Edge and Chrome can't open in Windows Explorer. We don't want users to synchronize the files from Teams to the computer, it's not safe and it leaves a hard copy after stopping the synchronization.

It is very annoying that this does not work. Very weak from the developers of teams. If they were my students they would not pass.

Found a solution
-> got to the sharepoint site of the ms TEAMS channel FILE DIRECTORY -> switch to classical sharepoint experience -> oPen the directory with explorer (IMPORTANT: Only works with internet-explorer). Now you can delete entire directories including sub directories and files bellow. -

I just spent an hour re-purposing a team and deleting files due to this limitation. there needs to be functionality for team owners to get around this limitation.

Agreed, very terrible system to not be able to delete the whole folder.
