Bug: Inconsistency in being able to add users to Private Channels via Web/Desktop Clients
Referred from Tech Community: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/can-t-add-members-to-private-channels/m-p/1088400#M42918
Issue is inconsistency when adding users to private channels via the web and desktop clients. Sometime users can and sometimes users can't. Workarounds to this solution include adding them on mobile (both IoS/Android) and completely removing member from the Team and re-adding them

Agree this needs resolving, we are using private channels and guests in them more to aid our remote working and move things to this process yet now having to faff around on my mobile to add people to various groups is not productive or helpful!
come on fix it, lazy MS

Pls FIX IT I HATE IT EVERY TIME I HAVE TO ADD A NEW USER. THE WORKAROUND IS TO USE THE MOBILE VERSION. IT SIMPLY TURNS THE PROVATE CHANNEL USELESS

Same problem as everyone else, cannot add members to a channel I just created.
Oh my ----- I just scrolled down and read that this problem was reported 3 months ago!
Wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't a fix til this time next year ....

This is a big issue for us. Owners of a Team cannot easily add members to the private channels. Sometimes the users appear at a later date or not at all. It works correctly on mobile.
Please fix this asap - thanks
Same issue here for months now. Unable to add guests to private channels via web or desktop interface of Teams. Workaround via mobile does work
I can not add guest to a team. Ability to add guest is enabled. I have tried via mobile, desktop and web, days, weeks and months after enabling without success. what is the status of this fix.
does anybody know when the bug will be fixed, how do we know when it is fixed.
We are able to add members to the private channel only if he is member of the TEAM. Not able to add user who is not part of the team.
we tried to add the member in Parent TEAM first. Then we were able to search the user and add in private channel under that team.
If we remove from parent team then it is removed from channel too.
Same problem with me, except it does not work at all anymore either of systems (or mobile app). Considering now to make completely new bug report as no workaround available for my case.
Issue is still unresolved and was brought up to me by a colleague just now. I suggested the below work around options and will see if they take.

Will there be a fix for this soon?

I experienced similar behavior and had to open a ticket with support. They ran some sort of policy re-sync in the backend and it resolved our inability to add External/Guests to Private Channels even though they were already members of the Parent Team.
Not sure if the bug you are reporting is related but sounds very similar.

Bug still not solved. At least workaround still working (adding guest on mobile device).
I too cannot add all the members I wish to a private channel. Very frustrating and essentially makes MS Teams useless.
I'm testing the free version and looking to invest in an online meeting platform. The fact that this is still unresolved after over three months does not impress me.

Dealing with private channels and now I cannot add users to most of my teams/channels as a result. This is critical for my organization to get a fix asap.
