Bug: Inconsistency in being able to add users to Private Channels via Web/Desktop Clients
Referred from Tech Community: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/can-t-add-members-to-private-channels/m-p/1088400#M42918
Issue is inconsistency when adding users to private channels via the web and desktop clients. Sometime users can and sometimes users can't. Workarounds to this solution include adding them on mobile (both IoS/Android) and completely removing member from the Team and re-adding them
Hi this issue seems to be logged quite time ago, but is still on.
I know that your team is working on it, but do you have any time scale?
Seems that out of suggested workarounds adding by iOS app works, but removing and adding back users do not.
We are still having this issue and it seems to be inconsistent. Some users are able to this right away and other hit this and cannot add users to private channels. For a tool that has become so vital to so many organizations, these kinds of basic features should just work.
This is a significant issue for us now. The way we need to use teams requires private channels to work correctly. What will it take to get this assigned to someone and have it added to the backlog?

We neeed your help to solve this issue becuase it look to easy to add somebody to a channel. In fact, it´s the minimal action we can ask to the app. Thanks

We are onboarding to Teams and have noticed the same behavior and its frustrating that some users can be added to Private teams but some cant be found. This issue has taken a year for MS to fixed. Any timeline?
Same issue. Can’t add any new hires to a private team.

Same issue here and this is a big headache for teachers. This has been a bug in the desktop version that is longstanding. Please fix name resolution in private channels in the desktop version of Teams, as it is our only recourse in the absence of native breakout room functionality.

Agree this needs resolving, we are using private channels and guests in them more to aid our remote working and move things to this process yet now having to faff around on my mobile to add people to various groups is not productive or helpful!
come on fix it, lazy MS

This is a big issue for us. Owners of a Team cannot easily add members to the private channels. Sometimes the users appear at a later date or not at all. It works correctly on mobile.
Please fix this asap - thanks
Same issue here for months now. Unable to add guests to private channels via web or desktop interface of Teams. Workaround via mobile does work
I can not add guest to a team. Ability to add guest is enabled. I have tried via mobile, desktop and web, days, weeks and months after enabling without success. what is the status of this fix.
does anybody know when the bug will be fixed, how do we know when it is fixed.
We are able to add members to the private channel only if he is member of the TEAM. Not able to add user who is not part of the team.
we tried to add the member in Parent TEAM first. Then we were able to search the user and add in private channel under that team.
If we remove from parent team then it is removed from channel too.
