Reply to specific message in chat on desktop app
Having the ability to reply to specific messages in a chat on the desktop app. This is available on mobile today.
Thank you for your continued feedback. As many people have pointed out, this is available on mobile today. Support for replying to a specific message is on the backlog for desktop. I’ll let you know when we have progress to share. Thanks.
Any update to when this feature will be rolled out in Desktop apps?

This is a very much needed feature. Most others apps have this feature. When the feature is already there for mobile not sure why it is taking to time have it on Desktop app.
Still nothing new on this?
WE NEED THIS FEATURE!!!
Would love to see this too just like in Skype
It's impossible to follow a discussion among multiple people in a team chat.
Please!! Implement this reply function in chat for desktop client!!!
@Bala, Can you explain the workaround?
When i focus on a message and hit the > key in the section where you enter new text it shows up like the bubble but after sending the message it still does not reference the message i want to reply to.
Teams Desktop should never been released without this very basic resource, seriously, IMHO.
Many misunderstands could have been avoided.
There is a workaround for this :
type: "> " in front of the message you want to reply to. That enables you to reply to specific message

Without a reply/quote feature, it is nearly impossible to follow a discussion among multiple people in a team chat.
This is unbelievable! I really thought Microsoft can make this feature an instant activation on their end but apparently, still left behind until this time. :( This feature is VERY efficient if you enable this on desktop version as well since most users are on their PCs especially during this COVID crisis.

I cannot believe this feature is not available for desktop - very unsatisfactory for a remote working group in the Covid era - and it looks as thought it is still low on the MS priority list

It seems ridiculous this feature is available in the mobile (iOS) app but not the desktop
I wonder why the delay to implement this reply function in chat for desktop client, especially when it is readily for both iOS and Android versions. I've always thought the Windows desktop client is feature complete compared to the mobile client. Obviously this is not true
Isn't this software based on an adaptive electron framework? It's the same code running on both Desktop and Mobile.... this should literally take a few hours to implement! Absolutely crazy this didn't come with the last release.

This is a basic feature, I have just used it on my mobile, and from my desktop, I can't?!

why is this still in the backlog after 1 year of everyone asking for it?
I really need the feature right now!!!
Always I feel frustrated when I realize the feature is not available yet.

@Alex This should be a high priority feature to work on (for the desktop app). It is already in the phone (iOS) app, but needs to come to the desktop asap, especially now with Teams more used due to Covid-19.
Thank you very much!
We need this please.
Good grief! Surely the chat functionality was just lifted from Skype when you acquired that - why would you drop this feature?!?
