Teams does not use regional settings correctly
Teams overrides regional settings from Windows 10 and shows dates incorrectly. I want to use english UI because of international environment but correct local regional settings for dates, times etc. This is not possible now. Please fix so that Teams follows Windows 10 regional settings or that I can keep UI in english but regional settings correctly as in my country.
To clarify: the link below is to a topic that is closed, because the date format has been fixed in Chat and Calendar.
But what I found out today is that it is *not* fixed in the Teams List application. When you add a 'Date' column to a list, it comes up in American format and there is no way to change it.
Doesn't Microsoft do user acceptance testing with non-American users??
Continually exasperating. This is plain disrespectful to the vast number of users worldwide who do not use the American date format.
This is maddening. If you try forcing the date with ..."dd/mm/yyyy" and applying DateAdd() for the value it comes back with nonsensical dates (sometimes).
This should be a straightforward fix.
It's the 20th of April 2021 now. Is it fixed already?

The current solution creates obstacles in global communication.
When sharing screen, it is an advantage, if one language is used (English).
But that means that a non-standard date format is used.
Teams should use the regional settings in the PC!
We've tried everything to make our environment only display dates in dd/mm/yyyy format, but even when everything is correct we still have things that default to US format. There are so many places that this can go wrong in Teams, SharePoint, PowerApps, etc. It would be great if the users preference could work like a global setting for them, but that appears to be a thing of the past.
Same here: I typically set my system to English (Unites States) and then change the date/time format in the Windows 10 settings to be the way I want them to be (no AM/PM but 24 hour clock, day/month instead of month/day, and Monday as 1st day of the week).
But Teams clearly ignores these system settings...
I HATE the format of the dates in Teams and want to be able to change it. We use year/month/date here and Teams only does month/date/year. Every spreadsheet I upload to Teams gets the dates settings changed and then when you download the document, you can't change them back.
Please FIX THIS!!!
I'm using the trial free version of Teams, and have the same problem. Strangely enough, chats show the date and time according to my regional settings, but the file list shows 12-hour clock in some obscure time zone, making it impossible to determine the local upload/edit time for the files.
why is Microsoft still hiring developers and programmer that disrespect the world. we are in 2020 and not in the 1970's anymore. why still not respect the machine regional setting and not change them why still confronted with inferior programmers and developers that still not understand the world and that people have 24 hrs clock as well the time notation is different .am/pm is not even a standard.. respect the regional setting of the user and respect the organisation

Totally agree! It should be possible to display date and time in the correct regional format even if you choose English as app language.
When I use a date picker in power apps, the date is shown in dd/mm/yyyy correctly in the web browser version but shows as mm/dd/yyyy in Teams.
I have found comments from MS (see link below) that this 'bug' has been fixed if we create a manifest for Teams store. This is incredibly difficult and should be fixed fully.

Apparently I modified some files at 6.48AM, which is presumably what the time was in some part of America when it was about 2PM in the UK. It seems ridiculous to me that Teams doesn't use the correct regional settings, please sort this out!

I agree on this. I typically run all software in English if that option is given, but I really want my dates and numbers in my local format.
I fully agree. I hate seeing AM/PM, when i've configured 24-hour Clock in my Regional Settings. Please fix in Microsoft Teams.
Calendar shows a 24 hour clock on the left side, as does everything else on my PC, but when scheduling a new event in Teams it reverts to the annoying AM/PM 12 hour approach.
My problem is with currency the Power App is programmed to use £. In teams it shows $.
The App works correctly in Browsers its only in Teams!!!

When pulling in a PowerApp the regional settings are defaulting to US rather than the UK settings on my machine and in my web browser. If viewed via the web browser (either on the PowerApps site or the Teams site) it is fine, the issue is with the desktop client.
