I cannot overemphasize how important this feature is. Calling something a "wiki" that cannot support markdown is ... less than responsible.
It seems like currently the only option Teams users have is to post a link in the Teams wiki to a GitHub wiki (or some other similar platform) and then maintain all wiki content there.
