Join a meeting without going through the browser
Notify Teams meeting invitation emails in Outlook.
Click on the meeting URL in the invitation email.
At this time, the browser starts and opens the desktop client.
Operation via this browser is inconvenient.
I want to join the meeting with a desktop client without going through the browser.

We’re pleased to announce that all meeting join entry points have been addressed in Outlook for Windows and Mac.
- For customers keeping current on the monthly release channel, this update has been released.
- Customers keeping current on the semi-annual release channel for Outlook will get this this Summer, with a gradual roll out scheduled to begin in mid-July.

I still have this problem with new browser windows open every time. How can it be fixed?

Here, too. E3 licenses (non-GCC) and something changed recently with browser windows always being opened on every meeting. It just started happening within the last couple weeks.

I think something must of broke this. Always opening a browser window before launching Teams desktop.

Still don't have this. Even teams sometimes doesn't realize in the calendar that a meeting is a teams meeting. Join link then opens browser to then open the meeting in teams.
Honestly this is really a sad state of affairs.
Please fix as it should be really easy to identify team meeting links.

I'm really liking Teams in general, but I miss one thing. With Skype meetings, I used to click on the Join Now link in the Outlook reminder. That was very convenient. When will we be able to click on the meeting in the Outlook reminder that way for Teams meetings?

When the Teams desktop app is installed, clicking Join should not open a browser tab. Please....

Does anyone know if this is working or how to deploy it? I thought we were current with updates, but still don't have this feature.

I wish I could use my desktop app but it doesn't want to log me in, always with the same mistake and then a blank window… So I need the effing browser and its diminished features comparing to desktop app. Sigh.

Alex - THANK YOU! I will pass this on to my people here.

It would be much more seamless if the teams app would open from the shared link instead of a browser. I would vote for this capability.

I defintily want to be able to use the reminder in outlook to click join online without going trough the browser or open the teams app or the meeting invitation. No extra clicks, please.

MS teams should never open a browser before opening the installed App. Its useless and irritating.
