Copy folders/files into private channel
It seems to be impossible to copy or move existing folders/files into a private channel.
Today we can move or copy any folders or files within the same team or among different teams by using "Open in Sharepoint" and then copy or move to, but this does not work with private channels. We don't even see the private channel document in Sharepoint.
Any possibility to fix this?
Thanks!

Private channels would make more sense as subsites or separate libraries than as completely separate site collections.
There's at least 5 other UserVoice topics asking variations of the same thing!

I'd prefer a solution like those 5, where private channels are either a subsite or separate document library within the same existing Team's site collection: that might even make it possible in the future to change a standard channel to a private or vice versa, as opposed to currently where they're set at creation and can't be changed, presumably because there'd be no way to migrate to a different collection. There's also a suggestion to make a private channel's site collection connect to the main Teams site collection as a hub site, which works if you already have private channels and their associated separate site collections that can't be easily migrated into the main Team site collection:

This is an important piece of functionality that any Teams user (or admin) would need.
Without the ability to move files around, seriously limits the usefulness of private channels specifically, and Teams generally.

This is now working, just ran through this issue. Now if you open the private channel in sharepoint the channel folder from teams shows in sharepoint for you and items can be copied/moved.
Be careful because the folder name is the teams channel so if you copy to root "document" folder, not the folder (channel name) it obviously won't show up in team - looks lost.

Just hit the wall with this issue. Users are not happy. Workaround to sync, cut and paste is not ideal.
