Add groups as member to private channels
A brief use case would be;
We have a Team that contains all staff members by default, the general channel is set to only owners can post. Currently we have separate teams for other internal departments which can get messy and cause notification fatigue.
We want to make use of private channels but to set access to the channels dynamically using existing groups. For example, under the internal staff team we have a private channel for Sales. In Azure AD we have a group called Sales with a membership rule of "if dept = sales". We would like to add this as a member to the channel so that the channel is updated as part of the JML process.

This would be helpful for my organization as well

I work for a university and we have differents groups for teachers and students. Teachers need to create private channels to work with subgroups of students.
Currently, they have to add manually each user while with the groups this could be easier.
Dynamic Membership for Private channels would be gold standard!
Really needed for compact managing RBAC in full cloud migration and modern workspace.

Using Dynamic Groups within Teams is critical -- not only tying the dynamic group to the main team site but also being able to tie a dynamic group to a private channel. Security maintenance of teams is not feasible how it is designed right now for any large scale teams. We want to implement a Dept-team site with group level private channels but cannot do this now because we can't link dynamic groups or even a regular AD security group.

I created a team for teach my student and in that subject I have 9 groups to learn with me.
I would like to add the individual group in channel but I can't do it. Please help me.
So we have a teams with several private channels where we want to share data with external users. When we invite a guest the guest first has to accept the request and enters the teams without access to private channels. We then have to add that user to a specific private channel to allow access to that channel.
It would be much easier for that guest is I could add the guest account to a group that already has access to a private channel so that when the user logs on for the first time, access to the private channel has already been facilitated because of a group membership.

Ho ho, this can be very nice for administrating larger groups in Teams. Vote vote

We have a Team set up for our entire organisation and would love to be able to set up channels within this Team for locations or functions. We have thousands of colleagues so to update these manually would not be suistainable. The Team itself is set-up supported by a Dynamic Group and it would be great to be able to replicate this across the channels withing the Team.
This makes so much sense as I have inter-department grps sharing files and rather create more teams ( which will turn into a mess) having one team with the whole company and creating private channel so inter-departments can share makes sense, but adding the member in one at a time is a nightmare, having the ability to add the new user to the group and then then it would populate through all the teams with that member seems so logical.

Our organisation is beginning to create teams for entire departments which need to include private channels for senior staff. Our Anaesthetics dept for example, have over 60 senior staff that they need in a private channel, and we would prefer not to manually add each person.
I just created a private channel to assign an Office 365 group to it and was surprised this is not supported. I manually added members one by one, but this is neither scalable nor dynamic.
I would like this too for school. Teachers and students separately in private-channels.

I agree, this is a needed feature. If I make an org-wide Team and then want to have a private channel target a specific group, my only option to add members individually. Its a pain to enter members one by one if the dist groups are large.
