share screen desktop mac doesn't work
When trying to share my screen desktop in a teams-meeting i get the instruction to enable Teams in "Screen recordings" but it's already enabled. This happende with the last update.

Due to increased security and permissions with Mac OS 10.15 Catalina, please ensure Teams is authorized to record your computer’s screen. Information on how to do that is here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/portal-mac-catalina-permissions.
Hope this helps!

Update: I updated Teams today (to version 1.3.00.30874), which resolves the problem! Teams now shows up in the screen sharing security settings, and when enabled, screen sharing works fine!

Microsoft Teams screen sharing needs to be fixed ASAP on MacOS Catalina or higher. Please let me know when this is fixed.

Here also the problem that Teams is not listed in the Screen Recording list under Security. I have tried the following steps without success:
- restarting Teams / rebooting my mac
- reinstalling Teams
- clear the Teams cache
- Reset ScreenCapture permissions using 'tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.microsoft.teams'
- Restarting in recovery mode, disabling System Integrity Protection
- switching between windowed mode and full screenNone of these actions resolve the problem. The only way I can share my desktop by running the web app of MS teams in my browser and sharing from there. Using the native application would, of course, be preferable.

This "problem" emerged early in client coaching session this morning. Tried to switch to a second Mac as backup and the same issue was encountered.
It was resolved by clearing the Teams Client Cache: https://www.uvm.edu/it/kb/article/clearing-teams-cache/
Using v 1.00.328778 Mac OS X 10.15.7
Update on Nov 5th.
Despite my fix, the issue reappeared today in the middle of another client session. This is really not helpful!! I hope someone from Microsoft is viewing this forum. If so please respond!

Still having this problem on November 3rd 2020. It asks me to check "Teams" in the "Screen Recording" panel, and Teams does not appear in that panel.
MacOS version 10.15.7
Microsoft Teams Version 1.3.00.24758 -

No, the "try this instead" does not help. I am using Teams Version 1.3.00.28778. It was last updated on 29/10/2020. I have to ungrant and regrant the screen recording permissions every other day. I suspect that I have to regrant them every time Teams did auto-updates itself. After an auto-update the hash of the executable might have changed and the permissions for screen recording doesn't work anymore.

Like everyone else here I cannot share my screen on Teams although the security and privacy settings are correct on my Apple MacBook. Randomly, I now find out that if the Teams original App is expanded to full screen (not the call window) then this error disappears. Please can you fix this error as I'm now having to logo out and back in to fix and before the update, this wasn't an issue?

But Teams is not even an option in the apps to select for screen recording

Like everyone else here I cannot share my screen on Teams although the security and privacy settings are correct on my Apple MacBook Air. I had to get a Team member to share their screen this morning and talk them through what I wanted to share. This is ridiculous when we are all working from home and Teams is our method of working. Please fix!

Hi, I just (by luck) found that the screen share options disappear when you have TEAMS in full-screen mode. I pressed the green circle on the top-left corner of the TEAMS window to make it smaller and I finally had access to the screen share options and the message that kept asking to allow screen recording disappeared. Hope this helps.

From reading, it looks like the privilege is dropped whenever you swith from full screen to window. The thing is, when you are full screen and try to share an entire desktop, Teams itself drops to window format. Should you keep it window, sharing an entire screen is another switch between full screen and window, so you loose your still-granted-privilege in every case.

The problem is that Teams do not benefit from this permission more than once. It asks a first time, you grant the privilege, quit Teams and re-open, than you can share once. Next time you need to share, Teams complains again, you need to uncheck and recheck the privilege, quit teams again and then you can share for a second time. The need to quit and rejoin every time makes Teams almost unusable.

Same here. Sometimes it works, sometimes I have to quit Teams, disable and re-enable Screen Recording, start Teams again. Quite annoying

this is still an issue with screen sharing that has not been addresses. we already know about enable screen recording the problem is that there is still an issue even though you approve it.
