Background Static Noise in Teams meetings
Microsoft Teams creates a buzzing noise whenever connected to a meeting. Especially, when the other participants are on mute.
Considering Teams as Microsoft's upcoming product this issue projects it in a poor light when a whole organisation face this issue.
The issue occurs when connected to any network.
Teams would be a great tool if this issue is rectified in the coming update.
I can confirm this does occur too, the good news is this is consistent in how it happens. the bad news is it happens. since everyone started working from home, we are connect to a teams call all day, so this starts causing actual headache. At some point after the call and at the end of the day away from my computer, I still think I am hearing white noise, so it can get dangerous. This is how the issue happens. When you first join a call and before anyone speaks, there is no white noise, as soon as someone starts speaking and then everyone gets muted after the conversation is completed, the white noise starts. If you were to hang up and re-join the call, the white noise disappears.

This is super frustrating. Tried restarting computer. I'm using regular wired Apple headphones plugged in via 3.5mm and the onboard sound on my Lenovo Yoga. I don't have Skype running. I do have on-premise Skype merged to Teams. Whenever I join a call, it sounds like an airplane to all participants and then goes away after a few seconds. I can't hear it but all participants hear it. This has never happened up until a few weeks ago. Happens for other folks at my company, too, so highly doubt its my hardware/devices as I've been using the exact same setup
I'm on a meeting right now, it's just me, I'm muted and my video is off, and there's still a ton of static noise. I don't have this issue with any other meeting software. Please fix this.

I get the same thing, even when Skype is not running.

This happens to me - but is caused by also having Skype running. When I start a Teams call I get a buzzing noise in the headset which changes to a beeping noise after about 30 seconds to a minute. The solution is to shut down Skpye. (Settings>File>Exit). As we are in the early days of Teams we have not yet set up any coexistence modes for Skype and Teams - it may be that one of these modes will fix it. I am using a Jabra Voice UC 750a headset certified for Skype for Business. The volume and mute functions on the headset cable work correctly in Teams.
Any resolution? We're having the same issue. Helps a bit when everyone except the speaker mutes, but that's not the best way to have a conversation.

Has there been any information on this. We are starting to see this as well.
Just happened on our meeting, too. We had to end it!

Has this issue been resolved? What was the root cause and remediation?

even when all people are muted their is static, this is unprofessional
When in a meeting the people on the other end of the call hear a lot of static coming from my mic what can I do? It just started happening.
I hear static noise (white noise) all the time when using the Android application or Windows application with my BOSE QuietComfort 35 bluetooth headset. (with noise cancelling)
It is not very loud, so I think some people may not notice it.
It it for me unrelated to people having talked or anything else. It is constant.
I do not hear the noise when using the laptop speakers.
There is no noise using Viber or Google Duo with this headset.
any resolution or tips on this?

Very annoying, especially in meetings with scheduled intermissions - ended up muting Teams through Windows Volume Mixer until we resumed. Can also leave and rejoin, but that confuses other attendees.

Can confirm this happens.
In addition I have noticed the following behavior: People who initially join muted cause no noise. As soon as someone speaks the hissing starts, even if that user mutes again and everyone else is muted. The line remains clear for THAT user until someone else speaks.
