Teams will auto create shortcut on desktop and duplicate shortcuts will be synced to OneDrive Known folder
The problem is that a separate shortcut is created on each and every machine that a user logs on to. With OneDrive known folder move enabled in the environment, users of multiple machines end up accumulating a heap of duplicate Teams desktop shortcuts.
This would be a top enhancement. This is usefull when the document are saved outside sharepoint on a server. We want sharepoint to store the links to that documents in s structured way. That would be top.
Hey, a bit late to the party, and not quite what you're looking for - but as of December 2020, Microsoft have now added an option within OneDrive group policy to "Exclude specific kinds of files from being uploaded" which you can use to stop .lnk files (shortcuts) from being uploaded as part of KFM. Good enough for us! Thought I would share.
You could have a user logon script that runs the following:
cd %onedrivesync%\Desktop & del "Microsoft Teams-*.lnk"
Replace %onedrivesync% if need be with the variable of your user's OneDrive location
This is really annoying - KFM is a great feature but we need a way to control the desktop shortcuts as people move between shared desktops, or are issued new devices.
This is an annoyance to our users who have OneDrive KFM enabled and regularly move between computers.
Microsoft Edge is also prone to creating duplicate desktop shortcuts, but this can be prevented by setting a specific registry value.
A similar control for Teams would be good.
