Disable/Filter notifications from Shifts
There should be a way to disable notifications that come from Shifts such as "requesting an open shift". As an administrator I find myself being added to numerous Teams that uses Shifts but I don't have a need to be notified nor see the activity for that particular team in my activity feed.
Thank you so much for your feedback! My name is Amir and I am a product manager in the Shifts team. This must be frustrating to get so many notification and I apologize for that. Did you try to disable your mobile notification for activities coming from the Shifts app within Teams? Is this issue mostly on desktop. We will add your ask to our backlog.

I get so many pointless "X published a new work schedule" notifications, it is driving me mad. There appears no way to switch these off. Please resolve it ASAP.
Any updates on this?
Agree with all the notifications. We are moving 400+ employees to shifts and I get all the notifications. I figured out to turn them off, however, other people that belong to the group (members) also get mobile notifications for every change we made. It’s becoming a huge inconvenience and I’m in the middle of moving them all- this is not very helpful when you are trying to get people to adapt a new system.
1) Notification should be a choice - people can get them all or just for the group they belong too. Have a way for them to choose what they want to receive based on what’s relevant to them.
2) Within the channel we have several groups and for each group there’s a clear “lead” to approve the schedule. It would be helpful to have middle management as with a large team such as ours- it’s nothing feasible for one person to manage 400+ employees schedule. Middle management could only get notifications for the group they have been assigned to.
Also, I find the mobile view of assigned shifts (showing only those with an assigned shift) much better than the desktop view that shows everyone (even those that don’t have a shift). Would be helpful to have a view for the desktop like the mobile one.
For those posting about Shifts notifications, I found the following and am waiting for some changes to come through to see how it works. You may try the same. Perhaps it would have been good for Karuana to post this in her reply:
Touch your picture to get to the settings. Select Notifications. Then General Activity. In that area, you'll see a number of items. One of which is "Shifts". Slide it off and perhaps, you won't get the notifications.
The issue as my team has experience it is the management team who needs to modify the schedule, and members from other areas who are part of our team communication, but not involved in the schedule at all, get the notifications. Would be nice if in the app itself, we had a way to select the types of notifications we receive. For instance:
Focused overall - schedule change impacts me
Focused time off requests - management team - or even direct supervisor only
I just got several hundred shifts notifications on my phone and watch - I want to turn it off as fast as possible. I was away from my computer. The only option seems to be to turn off notifications entirely - someone didnt think through the use case. Now I can't get the notifications I care about. Please fix this. Allow me to silence notifications on my watch from shifts. At least allow me to silence the shifts notifications on the phone.
Yes, this is really needed. Teams notifications become useless when getting dozens of Shift request notifications per day.
Agreed I would like to set it so only certain people get notified or none

This would be EXTREMELY helpful. As of now, all team owners receive shift notifications for the entire team. It should, instead, be an option in shifts for owners to select which group's shift request notifications they would like to receive. Is there an update on this?
Hello, is there any update on this request to selectively disable Shifts notification?
Given that I'm an administrator of 8 teams, I'm continuously spammed by Shift activities.
Thanks for your support,
OMG yes! Please make this selectable!! (Notify for Shift requests - On/Off) This is driving me nuts.
