Allow users to customize away presence timeout
Allow users to customize away presence timeout like the options in the Skype client. Add: Show me inactive when my computer has been idle for this many minutes. Also Add: Change my status from inactive to Away after this many minutes.
The team is currently planning for this work, we will share an update as soon as one is available.
(I apologize for the prior incorrect update – it was intended for https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/admin/v3/ideas/16958344)
As of late Teams will set you inactive even if you have it in fullscreen on your secondary monitor and actively working on your primary, this stays that way until you lock/unlock the screen or actively click on something in Teams.
This feature needs to be in this app ASAP as the built-in feature that sets it automatically is completely broken.
Two More features requests/bugs apart from original one in this thread:-
1. Share multiple screens/monitors in the single screen share option.
2. When I step away Teams display my status away but when I step in and start working it does not update status to available until I click on MS Teams to make it active app.
Seriously? You've been working on the easiest function possible for about two years now? There are SO MANY votes for the feature in different topics. It's really not that hard: You just add an option: Make Microsoft stop meddling in my affairs and mind their own business so I can actually mind mine.
My case: I do night shifts and I'm on call. Thanks to Microsoft I have to touch my mouse every 5/10 minutes instead of just walking towards my computer when the phone rings.. Remarkable how Microsoft can turn a nice job into a hellscape by 'as always' thinking they know best and completely ignoring common sense and complaints..

When implementing this please take into account the status a user has manually set. I put my status to Do Not Disturb due to having a day of catching up with items. I went out to grab some lunch and this status automatically changed to Away, which invited people to leave me messages for when I returned.
If I set my status to Do Not Disturb, it needs to stay on Do Not Disturb regardless of my activity no matter what.

Two years to carry it out, incredible...

This feature would be very helpful to have
I would like this feature also. Showing me as away when I am just on a call in inactive is really annoying as it makes it look like I'm not working when I am. Also sometimes it takes several seconds before this status changes back.

Please allow setting as was available in SFB
In terms of cross time zone users, I‘d require a fixed time when the status is changing to ‚away‘ and reset next morning automatically. Another way to implement this would be an API, so that I script it from outside of the app.
Staff of my firm would like to see more options in the 'Clear status message after' drop-down as the options start at 1 hour and go up from there. Be nice to start at 15 mins, 30 mins, etc.

The link in your message is for your admin area, not the public access area.
Yes please, the 1 min away message is really irritating. This should be included in the other duration changes.
So you are working it or aren't working it? Unclear from the last update and this is really silly that this cannot be changed.
Simply AMAZING that this feature is not available!

I'm amazed this has not yet been implemented... we really need this!
Yes, this feature is needed.
Not everyone is always active in Teams. I use a second computer for testing and my status is often "inactive". My teammates think I'm not available when I actually am. The current presence should allow users to configure status time-out as needed like Skype.
I would like the option to select how long I want to be inactive before Teams auto changes from "available" to "away".
