Teams keep crashing
Literally Teams will crash 5 or 6 times a day. Hugely annoying and unproductive. The user experience and reliability is so poor I am surprised Microsoft has even allowed this to go out the door

Hi Team,
I have been facing issue in Microsoft teams and it get crashed very frequently (generally when I try to share the screen). Not every time. But once this error start, it is very difficult to work on system with Team and ultimately either "I have hard close the Teams application" or "In case I have to user Teams application then i have restart the system".
My IT team has also looked into the same, but they also have one temporary solution (Uninstall and install again), but after 5 - 7 days, same problem starts again, hence i have now stopped connecting with them as well, considering this is a Major product issue, as same is faced by team mates as well.
Please share some troubleshooting mechanism to get rid of this problem every now and then. -

Initially we were using a complex troubleshooting method of going into the users appdata folder and removing files and folders regarding Teams. Then we progressed to just going into the app properties, right click on the icon, and checking under the Compatibility tab the options to Run in Compatibility mode and Run as administrator. We kept seeing failures, so we found that just right clicking the icon and selecting Troubleshoot Compatibility fixed it much easily. Close the app and find the desktop icon, right click and select Troubleshoot Compatibility. Select Try Recommended Settings, Test and Save the changes. Close the troubleshooter and open Teams.

This thread is talking about 2 different things:
A) a bug is being reported, about a crash/screen freeze
B) a feature is being solicited. A webex-like way for a presenter to lock what is being seen by the audience, while he can operate the computer.

I experience the same problem. When I use ppt in presentation mode, it freezes for the audience. I continue passing the slides, and the audience only sees the first slides.

There's a beautiful workaround for this that I came across on reedit.

@Microsoft, please escalate this issue. We are getting multiple staff complaining about this and there is not much we can do about it. Need a fix for this ASAP

This is functionality available (and very useful) in webex
Many times while in a discussion about a topic, it is useful as presenter to search for content related while not showing the audience the search process. -

My comment would be the same as Anonymous on June 30. That is exactly the situation. I want to leave up a powerpoint slide for the students but then still be able to go use my computer for other things.
* I just got notified that my issue was "merged", but this isn't the same as the issue above.... :-(

This is also happening for me. Nothing that support can do. Hopefully this gets resolved in a patch
