Add an option to disable auto-adjusting mic level
When on the call the Teams will automatically adjust the mic sensitivity level. I want it to stay at the same level. It's really annoying as it picks up background sounds when not talking. Also, it doesn't readjust it after the call, so i.e. if I had set level 50% before the call the Teams will readjust it to 80% and it will stay at 80% after the call has ended. This forces me to keep manually adjusting the mic level. It's a minor thing, but really infuriating. Would be really great, to just have a checkbox to disable mic level adjusting.
Thank you for your continued feedback. The team has placed this item on their backlog. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
This shouldn't even be on the backlog. It should be on the frontlog.
Our whole staff has macbooks and since teams and all other microsoft apps cause nearly 100% CPU load for "unknown reasons" when in a video call, the fans spin up. It's not loud but teams picks it up if you're not talking, teams boosts it to airplane turbine levels on every occasion it gets. This is such a pain and it happens in EVERY call, countless times every day.
PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

Hi Alex, please share with us when this problem is solved. It is annoying...

Did this get fixed in the latest OS update? Today, teams did NOT jack my mic volume up to 100.

Taking odds on which goes away first: this "feature" or UserVoice.

I have around 30 usb mics in circulation for employees and this bug is driving us all crazy, I'm having to troubleshoot and manage call disasters regularly where volume drops to zero, fix this asap!
My good quality microphone is completely unusable because of the lack of this feature. But you did have the time to separate the profile pic menu into two menus, then merge them back together. Nice management.
Backlog since November, still no fix but good thing we can send claps.

It is absolutely infuriating that it adjusts the volume right down when someone else is talking and then they can't hear me. Sort it out, Microsoft!
Crazy this simple thing hasn't been addressed yet.

Please add this already. My mic is natural very loud, I set it at 70 in windows and teams will always change it to 80 or 90 which is way too loud and hurts peoples hears in meeting, It happens almost every time I talk. PLS FIX THIS!!!!
zzz come ON, we're asking for LESS not more for god sake.

We need an ETA on this please
We're getting forced to use your software and can't even achieve great microphone quality because of you forcing our pc's to change microphone volume by the words. In a work environment this is hilariously stupid. You're far behind for e.g Discord...
This is not only annoying, this is a massive bug. It's literally impossible to use the mic on calls, which nowadays are the standard worldwide with half planet WFH. as soon as you go off-mute, the sensitivity levels keep changing.

I have the same issue, my mic is very sensitive and I need to set it to 60% otherwise my voice is not comprehensible to others in the Teams call. Teams auto-adjusts the volume to 100% and even if I turn it down, teams automatically keeps increasing it during the call. This is frustrating for me, and even more so for others who are trying to listen to me.

Is very urgent to solve this issue. This problem is becoming unmanageable and frustrating. Since they won't do anything about it yet, I'll give you a link as a workaround: https://sysadmin-central.com/2020/08/05/microsoft-teams-fix-auto-adjusting-microphone-audio/
This is an incredibly frustrating anti-feature. Please give the more advanced users at least an option to turn the auto gain adjustment off!
I have the same issue. Teams adjusts my volume to 0.

Please make this a higher priority. This is a big problem. I don't have this problem with any other communication software (Zoom, Ring Central, GoToMeeting). Only in Teams.
There is no reasonable way to keep Teams from changing my microphone settings and making me sound ridiculous. It is embarrassing in every call to have to deal with this. Calls with my team. Calls with my customers. Calls with my entire company. Please stop embarrassing me with this deficiency.
I just upgraded to a new Dell Precision 5750 computer where this is a problem. On my previous computer this was not a problem.
Unchecking and applying "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" does not work. Teams somehow ignores this setting.
