Add an option to disable auto-adjusting mic level
When on the call the Teams will automatically adjust the mic sensitivity level. I want it to stay at the same level. It's really annoying as it picks up background sounds when not talking. Also, it doesn't readjust it after the call, so i.e. if I had set level 50% before the call the Teams will readjust it to 80% and it will stay at 80% after the call has ended. This forces me to keep manually adjusting the mic level. It's a minor thing, but really infuriating. Would be really great, to just have a checkbox to disable mic level adjusting.
Thank you for your continued feedback. The team has placed this item on their backlog. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

This should be priority nº1.
I have my Logitech software open and I see the volume being controlled by Teams and dancing all arround...

Pleas add a disable automatic vol adjust for mic. in Teams and the web application.
I can not understand this feature, just adjusting the mic volume to 100% - What is the sense of it? It makes conferencing very hard, you have to take care of your mic volume manually after every time you say something.
It will be a real improvement!!!

Il mio microfono non si sente
Please address this issue. I'm tired of seeing my mic switch to 100% any time I join a call. This is a big problem when the correct level is around 35%!
MS Teams keeps setting my mic to 0. Very annoying!

I can't believe we still don't have this option but instead Teams has meme generators and other useless nonsense.
I have three computers this week that the mic stopped working only within the Teams app. Applying the virtual cable solution fixed the problem on all three. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this??
Hp pavilion headset 600
previously it has been an issue, now it seems to be fixed - finally I can use the headset normally with Teams
I am using webapp and tried chrome as well as edge but I'm still earraping everyone I call because teams keeps setting the volume of mic to 100%, by now you'd expect these clowns to fix this issue.
Been struggling with this for years. The workaround on Mac was flawless, but the one on PC never worked for me using Virtual Cable.
Today I noticed in PC in the Teams settings (right click Teams icon in taskbar and select settings or the 3 ellipses in top right of Teams window near your photo) you can turn it off finally!
Settings -> Devices -> Automatically adjust mic sensitivity (disable this)
I tested it out and my microphone is finally not auto adjusting to 100 level for the first time ever! Thank you!
Having an issue where the audio will randomly get super quite and then turn itself back up in my conference room, making Teams again unusable. This is ridiculous. It’s a Good thing we also have Zoom or we would be out of business
Still the same for me on Linux using web-based Teams.

The new "setting" for adjusting mic sensitivity does nothing for me. It is still adjusting the microphone volume just as it was before. (It was 84 and then I started talking)

It's not so minor when the software automatically adjusts to zero and stays there!

Have it been fixed ? Se picture (swedish version) seems to work for me with external mic now.
This is a terrible problem for me. I understand for many users, they just have laptop mic or a headset with no real ability to easily adjust the volume (and many don't know how to access the Mic Properties). In my case, I have high-end audio recording equipment, with a mixer, etc. It's outrageous that Teams screws around with my mic/recording volume. Give us the option to disable this, just like you have with your prior communication programs (Skype, etc.).
You provide the option to do this in Skype and in the old Skype for Business. Only Teams is lacking this feature. On my computer, Teams is unusable for audio calls because of this without installing 3rd party software to provide a virtual audio device for the sole purpose of preventing Teams from accessing the mic.

I have not tested this yet but it appears that a fix may have been added.
In Settings -> Devices, under Microphone there is now a toggle for "Automatically adjust mic sensitivity"
I'm on Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.11161 (64-bit). It was last updated on 06/05/2021.
