In Skype for Business, IM saves in a Conversation History folder. This would be helpful to have since I can't find saved chats in Teams.

The Incident Response Team in the Privacy Department needs this feature for our eforms. It will provide needed confirmation of conversations in case we are audited by the Office of Civil Rights.
Please do the same for Teams Conversation History!!

agree, we really need the functionality to automatically save conversation history to Outlook
This has been a long standing feature with Skype. No reason to remove a feature... add and improve, don't delete. Please fix Teams to save conversation history in Outlook (or in Teams) somewhere. Thank you.

Please place in teams the cntl-S to save conversations/chat to outlook!!!!!
What possible reason was there for taking this away?
It is super annoying to have to copy and paste everything.

I think Microsoft Teams should have chat history function like other app e.g. zoom that people can save their chat history and read it later. This is a useful function for creating detail data analysis after a conference/workshop has been completed, not only useful for our own business but also it's sometime required that we analyse chat for our clients own records.
Just wanted to let you know that I created an app to resolve this issue:
Modern Reader 365 Teams Edition by Cohorts.App
Collects selected channel and chat messages to one email and sends.
You may want to explore this and let me know if you have any questions.
p.s The app is in Beta version and will be in the app store in September
I need to save or print my chats because some of them are instructions. I also need to save or print chats messages on work to do from my supervisor or the team lead.

This was a very useful feature in Skype. Helps with documentation to fall back on.

Must be able to save the conversation in Teams. Should be highest priority to add that feature,
I loved how conversations in Skype were automatically saved in Outlook. Please add this feature in Teams or at the least give us the ability to save manually. It was a great audit trail and something I could also reference at any time later.

Important feature needed in Teams chat, we have to use the chat for various purpose eg in helpdesk ticket for recording purpose. it was possible in Skype but Teams must have feature too. Sooner is better!!!

As an IT desk support, this feature will help my department. Slack and Skype have this feature, which is why I've recommended them instead of Teams.
There really needs to be a clear simple option to save all the chat messages from a Teams meeting. I realize you can save individual chat messages, but this is impractical since most of the time it is more beneficial to save all the chat messages.

I find it incredible that MS produces an office productivity app that has no capability for saving or exporting chats!?!?

I am astonished that Teams does not provide the means to save a chat thread as a file. I support users and much of the support took place in Skype and the Skype messages were saved a conversations in Outlook. No such feature exists in Teams. The "workaround" is to copy and paste....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!
Fix this yesterday. I could easily name 35 really good reasons to need to save chat history (or portions of it). Documentation of meetings/meeting summaries, support issues that need to be transferred to another platform, printing, using initial messages to quote in an email, proof to a co-worker that "Yes, you really did say that on January 5th.", saving credit card info when one of your coworkers accidentally pastes it into the chat. I could go on.
This is one of the most obnoxious lack-of-features in Teams. (Even if a person wanted to copy and paste a single message, it's difficult. And for sure never try to select multiple messages in a thread. You never know what will be selected.)
This needs to be fixed.
Chat clients have been able to do this for over 20 years - but MS Teams can't?

Conversations saved to Outlook option in Skype was an essential function for me - but losing this in Teams is a huge step backwards. I regularly have to refer to older conversations and timestamps to write reports and now am unable to do so. This is further compounded by the fact you can't look through old hidden conversations easily. If you don't hide conversations regularly - it just clutters Teams up. Huge loss of useful functionality for me.
