Teams Room - Hide local HDMI content
We would like the ability to stop sharing HDMI content plugged into our Teams Room system without needing to disconnect the HDMI cable from the device. We're demoing both the Crestron and Logitech solutions and both have this behavior. When an HDMI device is plugged in to the system, the content shares automatically to the display. You can hit stop presenting and it will stop sharing the content, until you start a Teams meeting. Once the meeting is started, the HDMI In content shows on the in room display over all camera feeds from remote participants. You can show thumbnails of participants with the gallery view but can't make them the focus. The only way to stop showing the HDMI In content on the in-room display in a Teams Meeting is to unplug the HDMI device. That doesn't work for us because we're testing out using an AirTame for wireless content sharing as Teams doesn't have that capability unless you're in a meeting already or start a meeting.
This bug is a deal breaker for me.

We are also seeing this behavior with HP Slice, when the meeting room PC is on it is impossible to make remote participant camera fill the screen. The only way round this is to either disconnect HDMI from PC or shut down computer.
This is a real pain and should be something easy to fix. Hopefully will be fixed ASAP!

Looks like we are the only one. We got same issue. Unchecking the Automatic Screen Sharing does not work to stop this behavior. We are using Logitech Tap with Intel NUC. Please fix the issue. Thank You.

Please add a feature to start and stop the CONTENT SHARE/DISPLAY CONTENT INPUT on MTR Application.
This is the most complained about feature with all of our customers.
As an AV design engineer and integration technician, I am constantly solving these types of issues, however if the feature was fixed at the source, I can concentrate on making the world a better place, instead of just the meeting room.
This is stalling some deployments, as some of our customers have requested we demo alternative UC application experiences for them.
Change it soon or watch the market slip away.
This is a big problem and many clients are experiencing this behaviour. If you are using a wireless sharing device, then this is an impossible problem to solve
1.) If the wireless display solution is permanently connected in a call you will always be showing the splash screen, if you press the 'camera' toggle function you only get either content in focus or content full screen, you cannot seem to get full screen cameras either side (remote or local camera)
2.) I thought the solution might be to have a wireless sharing solution that was asleep (hdmi off) and only awoke when a connection was initiated. This works, but the annoying thing is if the user presses 'Present' on the touchscreen, they receive a message saying 'A cable is unplugged, please check the HDMI cable.
It would be good to customise the hdmi unplugged error message, and it would also be good to have the additional functionality of a camera toggle/view toggle button that works.
Yes this is a problem for us as well. We keep an in-room PC plugged in at all times for people that do not have a laptop or mobile device but we do NOT want that to the be screen that shows by default. Only if they hit the "Present" button. But the way it works, it is always presenting and you have to disconnect it. Please fix
Not being able to stop screen sharing without disconnecting the HDMI input is a deal breaker.

This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. We got some of these systems for a pilot and we've had to pull them all because of this issue. Not being able to stop screen sharing without disconnecting the HDMI input is a deal breaker for us.
Yes, please fix this ASAP.
The clowns at Crestron (Stephen Smith, especially) are lying to their dealers, telling them that this is a "desirable feature".

We also need the feature of disabling automatic presenting or also being able to stop presenting while doing a videoconference, as it can be done in most of VC systems as Zoom, Google Hangouts, Cisco, etc. We have integrated Crestron Flex for a customer in 2 rooms, and we were about to continue integrating it in much more rooms, however, customer is not happy at all with this issue, so they decided stop the future integrations.
We also need the ability to stop displaying the HDMI input content without having to disconnect the cable. Would also like some more options regarding screen layout. e.g. half video/half content, change between having content and video as bulk of display as you can with the regular Teams client.
We supply HP Slice bundles and all users are reporting this as an issue in both single and dual monitor setups - please take this as a feature request

Yes please add this feature to disabled automatic content sharing if you wish to.

Same issue here. No possibility to add third party devices and select the correct layout like we used to have on e.g. Cisco.

We have the same issue with a client, it's also causing the MTR to never go to sleep, keeping the screens on and active the whole time.
We just adopted teams room systems via HP slices with Polycom Panos on the hdmi input.
This worked fine when the rooms were on Skype as you could tweak the layouts. Now it is causing the same issues as the other people in this post have mentioned.
We like the Panos as they allow more flexible presentations when using the rooms to collaborate.
Due to the issue the rooms displays are always turned on too.
