Mute button on Bluetooth Surface Headphones doesn't toggle mute in a Teams call
Re-opening this issue, but with Microsoft Surface Headphones. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/32829871-mute-headset-microphone-using-physical-mute-button
Should update this list to include Surface Headphones as well: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/control-calls-using-a-headset-in-teams-65d6e104-444d-4013-b8c2-f11317dd69a8?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US
I would have commented on the earlier post, but comments are closed.
I tried updating my Surface Headphones firmware to the latest version (188.8.131.52), but it still doesn't work.
Annoying when you in a customer presentation don't know if you are mutet or not ;-(

Hard to believe that Microsoft hardware is not integrated with Microsoft software.
Same happening to me with Jabra 85h on MacOS and Microsoft Teams. , I toggle mute, the earpiece prompts "Mute On", then _immediately_ (with no action on my part) "Mute Off", and the mic is not muted.
Sadly I have no hope that anyone will pay attention to this request and if they do it will be years before it's dealt with.
How does this seriously not work with surface headphones? I bought them to work seamlessly with my surface devices and microsoft/office 365 software. The surface mute button mutes the microphone, but gives me no indication in teams that it is muted. You could even just update the surface headphones to remind me that they are muted if it hears me start talking.
I understand this could be a problem trying to make Teams work with every 3rd party mic device out there, but this is with your own company's $300 headphones.
It's a problem with sennheiser pxc 550 when working on mac.
Mute control works correctly with teams on android.

I'm having a similar issue with Plantronics 5200--it seems like Teams is immediately turning mute off.
There's a prompt in the earpiece when mute is toggled--when I'm testing through system settings (macOS preferences, in this case). Muting from the earpiece works fine. I talk, macOS is registering voice, I hit the mute button "Mute On", macOS no longer registers voice.
When I call Teams Echo to test in-app, I toggle mute, the earpiece prompts "Mute On", then _immediately_ (with no action on my part) "Mute Off", and the mic is not muted.
Any updates on this issue would be appreciated, and I'd be happy to test any builds that might include a fix (I have both Windows & Mac machines if needed)
On my computer, the mute button of my Surface Headphones has not effect on Skype for Business (Lync) either, neither on Skype. The inner mute button of the apps and the real button on the Headhones are independent and acts separately from each other.
How did you achieve that?
I am disappointment that is feature is not on Teams already, it did work fine on Lync.
Any update on whether this is under consideration?
I purchased Surface Headphones thinking it was a no-brainer they would work with Teams because they were SFB certified. I was sadly mistaken. It's even worse that you can't see if the Surface Headphones are muted while they're on your head. So I often find myself juggling between 2 mute buttons never being sure if I'm muted or unmuted.

It would be great to control Mute in Teams from the Surface Headphones
Would be nice to also auto-mute the call in teams if you take the headphones off your head and put around your neck ;)
