About manual update
Add the ability to manually update the Microsoft Teams client app.
I would like to control updates myself. Updates regularly include rearrangements of UI and features, which cause me to be looking for how screen sharing etc works in the middle of a meeting. This leads to awkward moments.
I need this feature because updates break my microphone after version 1.4.00.7175, and I have to keep reinstalling it every day to get my mic to work again.
So either make a way to disable auto-updates, or fix your broken software.
I'm using macOS Catalina 10.15.7 under Parallels.

As a devoloper multitasking multiple desktops and projects everyday, it's really frustrating when teams suddenly updates and restarts without restoring windows/popouts, and which window was pinned to which deskop. It prevents efficiency. I demand to at least be asked if I agree to restart or not, as I may be in the middle of something important, hence losing track and continuity. Really annoying, especially when teams restarts almost every day.

We should be able to control updates
As an enterprise admin, having a powershell command that could be run to force an update on remote devices would be great!

Teams became unusable with newest version. When camer is on I got a start/break loop. Took me days and still not working. But as it is implemented as central communication tool to manage the my distributed team I have no chance. I mean wtf why is Skype stable but teams ducks it all up? Before ms thinks to put more and more features in it it should make the core stable. And gibe the control to users form updates. And keep the settings. In general teams is apparently Hastl stitched together to take the chance of corona. But Ms is completely loosing their reputation by making it worse and worse.
I will see if we switch to another solution as this apparently will not change.
I have now deleted Teams, so I don't have to put up with it updating when I want to do something else!
Yes - please to be able to securely use Ecamm

MBP 13" on High Sierra 10.13.6. MS Teams version on our company's "AppMarket" works fine, version is 1.3.00.24758. MS Teams DAILY updates itself to version 1.3.00.26266.
This 1.3.00.26266 is crashing: starting up, immediately closing, staring again, etc... asking for log in again and restarts the same s**t.
Our company's L3 Helpdesk still not able to do anything and this lasts for weeks now!
How did you think to remove the users preference of version upgrade, if your new versions have issues? (Issue: even if something on my MBP causing it, your new MS Teams version is NOT prepared for that, so should be able to avoid or skip this update version!!!)

VDI VMs provisiond from the golden image with Teams installed following the instruction for VDI are being updated with Teams. There got to be a way to disable the auto update and manual update on the golden image. This must be done quickly!!

I keep rolling back updates to prevent the Virtual Cameras from breaking (CamTwist, OBS, Etc). The new Teams is also devastating on my 16" MBP (8c i9/64GB RAM Teams is a hog after the updates). Browsers do not allow for the same view settings as the app, so using Chrome/Edge is not a solution. All of this convinces me that there needs to be AT LEAST a slow path on these updates, if not allow us to disable automatic updates completely.

Seriously, why the **** does Microsoft keep thinking that they have the right to take control away from us? Had different pop-up chat windows organized on different desktops, come back only to have everything reset. Give me a ******* notification and let me restart it when I'm ready.
Hello I have a login issue when my Teams update itself to a higher version than 4461..
Please provide a self control mechanism to stop the automatic updates or provide support why versions higher experience login issues..

Due to recent vulnerabilities detected with the Teams Patch methodology, our Cybersecurity department is asking us to turn off auto-update so that we can control with an internal patch management solution.
Great modern strategy to auto-update - works only if you dont break things. On top of it you dont respect user preferences e.g. "Disable new meeting experience" never remains like that. Now teams is crippling Macbook AIR 8GB machine and stalls everything including a teams call unless you are giving an option to update manually I am not using the native client.

This would be a great option, especially since each update currently breaks our whole organization's ability to use Teams, until we manually patch each update. Please allow for at least missing 5 bi - weekly updates before forcing an update.
