Schedule a follow up meeting
It would be good to be able to schedule a follow-up or continuing meeting from the existing calendar entry. I.e. right-click in the calendar event and "schedule again" or "follow up". Ideally retaining the existing agenda in the new meeting so we can tick off things done/mark still to cover etc.

As a moderator of an MS Teams meeting, I want to be able to
- create follow up meetings directly from the original meeting,
- add my selection of artifacts from the original meeting (title, description, white board etc.)
- add 2-n participants of the original meeting (prioritized suggestion from MS Teams) or other contacts (also eligible) to each follow up meeting
- see optimal meeting times for each follow-up-meeting based on its participants' calendars and accept or change them to my liking...
so that I can save time organizing follow-up meetings, keep important information and (later) track the development of ideas and decisions over several meetings.
How is this not a thing for Teams already? I got to this page because I was searching how to continue a meeting that maintains the chat, meeting notes, recordings, etc.
I'm doing a series of short briefings for a new team, not every day, and not at the same time of day ... just when I can find time we're all available. I've had the first two and am realizing how disjointed this will be with recordings of each session, notes from each, discussions from each, links provided in each, all in a separate chat.
Please add this soon, Microsoft!
instead of "cutting" and "paste" in outlook, I rather now use "copy" and "paste" in outlook. (you don't loose the original meeting in outlook)
This works very well. For teams its the same meeting and in Outlook you can give a new name (e.g. ...Follow up), add new participants...
For me this work around is acceptable.

This would really make my day more efficient.
However you do it, my most important need is that you persisting the teams chat thread between the one-instance meeting and the follow-up meeting -- helps the group keep context.
Totally agree on this - "Reschedule Meeting" is required, to take over the Chat and attachments to a follow up meeting...
First day of using Teams seriously made me searching for this feature!
Totally agree that this would be a good feature. As a workaround I'm cutting and pasting the meeting in Outlook and then I get a new invitation but to the same meeting.

Just was looking to do this. This feature would enable keeping related chat info together etc, which would be really useful

Agree with this suggestion, I would also like to be able to have the option in a meeting chat to generate ad hoc follow up meetings from chat.

How long will it take to realise this suggestion? I'm sure even Microsoft programmers don't always complete all their goals in their first meeting and sometimes need to follow up.
That wuold be great! Would make it easier to get people to use the meeting notes and other functionality in Teams.

Reoccurring meetings are a pain to manage so I generally land up setting up each one individually, considering time and date more carefully for each instance to ensure attendance. Also if monthly, I only setup the next session as I do the actions for the next based on the urgency and time needed so it would be super helpful to be able to link these meetings all together with one chat. I've resorted to setting up "Teams" in order to achieve the same outcome but it would be nice for this to happen more organically i.e. a kick-off meeting morphs into a working group of sorts without formally setting up a "Team", I've also noticed senior staff tend to ignore "Team" posts and meetings so it's better to keep it as a chat.

this would be really helpful for retaining key information!
The product really needs this capability to keep meeting threads alive.

With the new meeting notes feature, and now stream being integrated into Teams meetings, this feature would add value to those features.
Agree with this very bais config missed
Absolutely agree, very needed feature
Agree with previous comments . . . This is a definite must-have. I have notes that were added to a discussion that I need to carry forward with the participants in the first meeting as a follow up
This is a must-have!
Yes. This is a needed feature.
