Create Planner tabs within Private Channels
We have just started using Private Channels, which is great as our team has sub teams within it and this way we can have private discussions, without creating multiple teams.
What we'd also like to do is create Planner Plans within the Private Channels that are only accessible to those within the Private Channel. Is this on the roadmap?
Advantage of using Planner in a private team is that we can use the rest of the Teams bord to share all communication, reporting etc. with everybody.
this is really necessary

we need the planner in the private Chanel. please create this feature....
Can MS confirm or deny we're ever going to get this and put us out of our collective misery? July 25 2018 was the first post here- sounds like it's the Sharepoint architecture getting in the way (different sp sites for private channels)... you should never let architecture get in the way of a good feature.
Please include the ability to add Planner tabs in private channels. The current constraint creates an inconsistent user experience.

Microsoft needs to look at adding Planner to private channels this is a flaw in your thinking. The reason for private channels is for a select group of people working on a project but you can't plan the project because this function isn't available. Very disappointing!!
I can't believe this isn't a feature. You can't even ADD the Planner tab to a private channel, this is ridiculous.

As an organization, we are evaluating Teams and Planner to manage projects and tasks. Unfortunately we have a subset of stakeholders that need access to all channels and others we want to restrict access. This is a major gap within Teams that is restricting us from moving forward with implementing this. Private channel integration is an absolute requirement.
I, too, would like to add to the number of comments on this thread to express my desire for Planner, or some sort of Planner equivalent to be accessible for task management in private channels. Very often my private channels are shorter term projects with a smaller group and those projects definitely have a multitude of tasks. I actually have MORE need for Planner in private channels than public.

I really love planner and even more as it is integrating with To Do which I depend on! but would really love the ability to add a planner to my private team channel!
Absolutely! Without this feature it creates an incentive to keep creating additional smaller 'sub'teams. Anyone seen / read any comment from Microsoft?

Agreed that this is a critical need in order to fully use the functionality of Teams that matches the needs of your end users.

badly needed! If you want to have different user groups in one team whom you must separate somehow, you cannot have one big transparent planner visible to every Tom, ****, and Harry.
This is a need. My company switched from a meeting organizer called Traction Tools to moving everything to Teams during a recent merger, and many of our existing meetings (like employee-leader 1-on-1 meetings and other confidential recurring meetings) no longer have an avenue for clean, organized meeting planning due to this limitation.
For department/public channel meetings, Planner was the closest fit to recreate the structure we previously used for meetings (and even then, it's far from what we were working with before) so at minimum we need to be able to incorporate this app/tool into private channel meetings as well. It seems strange that the functionality isn't already supported.

REALLY need to be able to add Planner plans within Private Channels.
Would then also allow flagged email to go to a private channel within a team so certain tasks could easily be moved out and assigned within public channels for the same team.
Currently, flagged emails can be set to either:
1) go to a public channel so everyone can see ALL flagged email OR
2) be sent to plan for a different group to keep them privet but then cannot be easily moved/assigned within the full company group/team. (I hope that makes sense)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. What is the point of being able to create Private Channels in Teams if they're basically useless / can only be used for posting messages/files and nothing else?
we realy need it, to work with teams and not only use teams for call : /
We have multiple engagements with a single client organization. We have one team for the client and private channels for the different engagements. I wanted to ditch Trello and use planner, but they have to be private by engagement. We really need this feature!
Are you kidding me?! I have just spent ages shoehorning existing channels into private channels, because hey it woud just be too simple to be able to convert them, and then I find I can't setup a bloody planner in them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, Teams really was written by the Microsoft work experience guy.
What is the point of having a private channel, if everything in the planner has to be in a common one.
You really didn't think this product through.
Can't wait till this flagship product on Windows, supports, well you know.... Windows!!!!

Microsoft this request is posted in multiple questions in UserVoice, most with thousands of votes! Please add this feature! Setting up multiple Teams for the same group is tedious and clutters screens making it easy to overlook new posts. Please make Planner available for private channels so subgroups don't have to be a member of that Team and an additional Team!
