Channel Meetings Notifications
If a meeting is created in a channel, users should get notified of this through Teams. They should be able to follow/unfollow a channel to determine if they got notified or not.
Here is a big thread explaining many of the issues currently. Teams Devs, please take a look so you understand the confusion and frustration.
- It seems to work differently based on how the O365 group is configured - i.e. if the group is visible or not
- the default for group visible was changed a while back so it now works differently across different teams based on when they were created
- no way for the Team owner to see what the settings are or to know this functionality exists
Not only the person who creates the invitation should get an email and see the meeting in his teams & Outlook calender, but also the persons who are invited. Our 130 teachers- school in Bavaria- are organized in teams of the typ PLC and Staff. And we miss this function. We can´t understand why these types don´t have the same options like the typ class :-( We acutal use "mention" after planning the meeting to guarantee that everyone notice the new meeting. The option adding neccessary participants to the corresponding field is not really an option because there are lots of members in each team. We hope there would be a contemporary implementation! Thanks

When you create a Teams Channel meeting (ie: "Schedule a meeting" from a Teams channel), there should be an option to auto-invite all the members of that team/channel so that it shows up in each members outlook calendar. Yes, I know I can explicitly invite them individually, but if you have dozens of people that is very inefficient.

AND the meeting should be saved to their Outlook calendar as well, so that reminders can be received.
I would like to have it default on if I have set the channel to show but with the option to turn it off. If the channel is hidden it should be off.
I wouldn't want notifications for meetings in channels to be on by default, but I would definitely want people to be able to enable notifications for meetings in channels. This would make the channel meeting functionality significantly more useful.
