Allow upload of pre-recorded video
It would be great to upload a pre-recorded video such as a or town hall. This would allow producers to switch between the pre-recorded content and the live component.
It would also allow people to use Live Events for webinars with better production value as they could record the content beforehand and then be available to answer Q&A live.

This ask is under review by the team, taking into account your votes and comments.

Has there been any update in the past year for this feature? It seems to be something the market wants/needs.
I found this article online that might help https://www.untoldit.com/2020/04/how-to-broadcast-pre-recorded-video.html

I sometimes helps people in my organisation as a producer of Live events and Teams meetings and when they ask me to stream out a pre-recorded video from a shared screen I know that the quality will be poor for the viewers. The video and sound doesn't sync and the sound clips and video is disrupted or delayed. You could stream with an external device or software which makes it better but for the average person in a Teams meeting that is too complicated. Something needs to be done or else they will move to another software...

We love to upload pre-recorded videos for our internal NewsRoom meetings.

The only way currently to add a video is to embed into a ppt and share it, res is ok but frame rate is a bit low, ( and throttling does not help ) otherwise I have to use my production system and use stream keys, and then do full production and bring ppl in via zoom or teams meeting, adding the ability to run pre uploaded videos and pictures without having someone share would be great.. would also be great to have more production templates than just the 2 available now.

This would be a huge win for my sales team. They need to show multiple videos during a meeting and often have back to back meetings where they will need to play the same videos at a later time. Being able to load them ahead of time and play them from the cloud would be awesome! They are currently using Blue Jeans for this.
Thanks!

A Media Bin (Video and Still Image) is essential for producing professional events. Being able to choose a preloaded still or video is a must, especially when a Shared Screen or PowerPoint has problems or needs changing - a Media Bin would provide an escape. If pre-uploaded, then multiple producers could also access the Media Bin for redundancy of global events across multiple timezones.

Really big need for this. Now having a hard time for digital townhall meetings using live events as pre-recorded videos are a must.

This is an essential feature. Because Teams Live Events does not have this, we have to use a combination of Stream and WebinarJam/Youtube to host our webinars or all-hands meetings. You can use Wirecast Virtual Camera to cook your webcam, but that requires an additional $1k license per WC user and it will still be ground down by videoconferencing compression when it could be buffered and shown at high quality.

Isn't a version of this possible already, as you can now select "include system audio" during a desktop share and play a video in to a Live Event that way Or am I mistaken?

This feature is essential for high quality production of a live event. Like others on this forum, we'd like to use a combination of live and pre-recorded content from speakers who can't make the live event timing.
