Show status duration
Skype showing the status duration in a chat was very useful ("away for X minutes").
this allows you to know if your colleague is off for a coffee or in a 4 days vacation.
This feature is very much missing when using teams.

Agree, please allow the option to edit the time before it shows as away, (this should not be automatic) so when you are available but doing vital paperwork away from the computer you can still be contacted or not seen as unavailable or not working. This sets a very bad impression on my clients.

This is typical M$ arrogance - who are we, as mere users, to have any actual level of control over our usage experience. Teams is by far the WORST M$ product I am forced to use in my daily work life. I cannot have any say in the idle timeout, I cannot whiteboard with or remote control a user outside my own organisation.

YES - PLEASE ALLOW EDITING OF TIME BEFORE THE AUTOMATIC STATUS CHANGES from "available" to "away" in Microsoft Teams
I strongly agree with Tiffany. I also work from home, and we use Microsoft Teams group chat to say when we log in every morning, when we go to lunch, and when we leave for the day. If I work on something that does not require me to physically touch the computer for more than 10 minutes, then it shows me as "AWAY" and (to me) it looks like I'm slacking off and not working. 10 minutes is barely enough time to go to the restroom and get a cup of coffee or water.
At a bare minimum, Teams should at least change it from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.
We used Cisco Webex Teams at my last job, and we could customize it all we wanted. It worked very well.

Agree please incorporate same feature Skype has in terms of showing how long people are away- I work in a job where I rely on these statuses as I need to reach people quickly while on the phone. This has taken the convenience out of knowing whether someone is out of office or just on a quick break and has made it a guessing game.

Status duration should be edited by the user. In an environment where we have to work from home, this makes me feel like I must be glued to my chair all day long. It is unhealthy physically and mentally to not take a break. Aside from that aspect, on a daily basis, there are times that I am actively working and look down and realize that I'm showing as green in Skype but yellow in Teams!

I should be able to change the default time before my status is changed to Away. As a previous poster stated, "It is very aggravating to get a phone call and look down to realize my status has changed to away.

I totally agree. Would be great if we could have this option in Teams as well.

Not only do would it be nice to see how long someone has been away but we MUST have an option to set our default time before status is changed to away. It is very aggravating when I get a phone call on my mobile and look down to see that my status has changed to away. There are many other examples but this happens on a daily basis.

Frustrating that inactivity changes after 10 minutes. I will be working on my laptop - preparing documents, notetaking, training and the system will switch to inactive. 10 minutes is not an appropriate time to convert the status and we should have the ability to mark our own preference to show inactivity. In a time where we are all working from home, this feature can present difficulties to those working in organisations which completely monitor the presence of employees as well as adding to the mental stress of these employees. Not useful at all when you look at the bigger picture.

Yes, it is. If I take 15 minutes to walk the dogs, it looks like I'm not working!

Status duration needs to be able to set by user.

I agree with the comments I have read in this thread !!! Being able to set a duration before status says "Away" was a wonderful feature of Skype. I have found this option eliminated in Teams. Can we have the task restored in Teams ? Tks

The user should set the status - PERIOD. I don't need Bill Gates telling me when I am available or not. I'm not sleeping with him and if I was he shouldn't be such a controlling boyfriend.

Allow user to indicate in Settings how much time should pass before updating status to Away. You have to click on it every ten minutes if you're reading or not actively typing and makes for an unproductive workflow when you are actually working but not showing that you are active, which is counter productive
