VIP notifications
I have notifications on minimum to avoid too much distraction with my work. However, there are individuals that I need to respond fast and it would be great if we could define VIP people for which we could make different rules for notifications from the rest of the pack.

Some sort of persistent nag in the form of repeated notifications or a notification pop-up that remains open and in the foreground until the user actively acknowledges it by replying or closing it would be helpful. Notifications that simply flash on the screen temporarily and then end up in some huge list are far too easy too miss and can easily go unnoticed.

This idea is great! With this, please implement a tag for messages to overwrite notification settings. For example I write a new message in a Channel starting with @alertall ALL members of the channel will get a notification.

Would 2nd that, we use it Alarm the Admins once a Special System is down. However there are systems which are much important then others so this feature would help a lot

Please add, I miss so many chats because of not hearing the notification. Icon in taskbar, chat window pops out, anything that is noticeable for a long period of time.

It would be great if it could use the same VIP notification settings from Outlook

notifications need some flexibility - everyone works differently, in very different environments... let us configure!
For example i'm in an open office (so my volume kept low)
I have a 34 screen (3440x1440) - the red dot of "message waiting" makes up 49 (7x7) pixels of my 4,953,600pixel screen. it does not get noticed.
i work a lot on my actual desktop (paper markups/notes.books) so I'm not always looking at my screen (the toast notifaction disappears far too quickly)
Can't we have an OPTIONAL settings..
"bring to foreground" so the entire teams chat window when someone is messaging us...
OR a stay on top option
OR snap to side to remain seen on large screens etc
OR toast notifactions that must be acknowledged/dismissed before they disappear
OR customisable notification audio so it can be much louder or longer than other beeps
Surely all of these optional settings would allow users some flexibility to avoid missing things.... and make Teams the instand communiccations it needs to be

Like others have said, really need it to be a louder, better chime for VIP (or all) and flash longer or re-notify, or all of the above.

Need the icon on the taskbar to flash or at least show I have messages/meetings/missed calls, something to show I have activity in Teams when not on screen or minimised.

We switched from Cisco Jabber to Microsoft Teams, In Jabber, a pop out occurred on receipt of a new chat. I too would like a new received chat to pop out a new chat window in Teams. Having a chime doesn't help as I always have my headset plugged in and not always am I wearing them.

Badly need the message notification popup, similar to what we have in Skype. Lots of important messages need immediate response

Need an option added for a chime - or siren (nah just kidding) for chat notifications.
Seriously now, a pop up or sound notification is needed, just like most of the other chat or communications apps. -

If I'm standing next to my computer, but not looking at it, I miss Chats because I can't hear the chime. I never miss when Outlook or other software gives me a notification. If I turn the computer volume up, everything else is too loud. Since this software makes me miss time-critical conversations (which is supposed to be its purpose) I'm doing my best to get our company to switch to something that doesn't get me in trouble.

Excellent point Just missed a very important meeting with my boss... . 4 min into the meeting time he sent a message via teams to ask if I am showing up. 8 min later I see that I have an open IM in teams. It would be very helpful if we had the ability to set a VIP alert to pop up in a window... flash, jump around or something that is very visible and does not go away without action.. why did I miss the IM... Priority situition for a Ransomware issue with a cusotmer. NO matter what the excuse is... I would like MS Teams to help me like Outlook does ensure I am responding to VIP's messages ahead of others.
