Make plain text the default paste option
Ctrl+Shift+V for paste as plain text is not discoverable (I only found it after coming here and searching for suggestions to upvote to add support for pasting in plain text).
For an instant messenger, plain text really should be the default paste option--there are many of the "paste as plain text" suggestions in which others have commented to this effect.
This suggestion is to:
1. Make pasting in plain text the default (Ctrl + V) option.
2. Add context menu option(s) (similar to in MS Word) for other paste options (currently, I believe this would be one option to include formatting).

Why doesn't the Mac version of Teams have a "Paste as unformatted text" right click menu option?
thanks for the tip; i never knew existed and this request is buried on page40!

MacOS needs a paste as text option. Cmd+Shift+v used to work in previous version of Teams, but no longer works. Paste as text should be the default in every application
+1. It's a shame after so many complains through years.
Make it configurable as Outlook ("Pasting from other programs: Keep Text Only") or
Make it default or
Add Ctrl+Shift+V to context (right click) menu
This problem (extra newlines) makes Teams painful to use. Teams is not fit for developers.

Either make plain text the default -or- let me change the default to plain text. I never want formatted pasting in Teams. Thanks.
Is there an update on this?

Not making "paste as plain text" the default is what I hate most about all MS applications.
It is frustrating to paste and its completely misaligned, this should be a priority!
This has been driving me crazy. Why does this app not have rightclick>paste as plain text? Every other MS product has this? Or just make it a setting.
+1 to this, and thanks for providing the Ctrl+Shift+V, I was about to paste to notepad and then paste to Teams.
Also funny this Teams feedback only has sign in for FB and Google.

This is single biggest infuriating annoyance in MS Teams today. Its so annoying to see different formatting and text sizes get carried into posts and wiki when copy/pasting from different sources. This issue has been reported a zillion times, but Microsoft has all the time to roll out 100s of new (needless) features, but not solve one messy issue.
This was the original one, which says "completed". Obviously MS product managers have no idea what "completed" means: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/18779713-paste-as-plain-text-option
Lets consolidate votes from all other similar into this so it comes up higher in search, etc.
