Add functionality for simultaneous interpretation of audio/video meetings with human interpreters..
For meetings with participants who speak different languages, it would be great to enable an interpreter console feature, allowing participants to choose their preferred audio channel (language), and listen to the interpreter (a meeting participant who could be remotely connected) rendering into their language. How about an add-on app to do this?
Thank you for your feedback. We are actively considering options for this. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
This is essential for our projects too, Alex. Please indicate when we can expect this.
Any feedback..Is the interpreting option already available ? Any link explaining how to set it up
Dear Alex, can you please indicate when we can expect to see this excellent feature rolled out? Like others on this post, this would solve a lot of current issues (and cost) and add so much more to the richness of the experience for users and interpreters alike
can we have some feedback please, is also an essential need for us ...

What's the progress towards this
Se need this ASAP, currently we are forced to use Zoom because feature isnt available in Teams.

For our organization this is an essential need of ours now. We are therefore required to shift to Zoom so we can hold multilingual meetings with human interpreters. We would rather use Teams. Please add this feature. Thank you
I would strongly appreciate integrating that functionality into Teams as we plan to organize international scientific conference in near future using Teams platform.

We need this more than ever. This is the moment to navigate in new technologies and features, yesterday it was nice to have, today is a must.

This functionality which already is available on other platforms will be extremely important for international organizations. It will mean a great improvement for TEAMS which is really working very well.

This feature would be extremely helpful for my team, who helps with producing virtual meetings for the GoC

Looking forward to this feature! Big must for public sector in Canada ;)

As others have stated, this feature is an absolute necessity for those of us producing virtual meetings for the Canadian Federal Government. Your competition (Zoom) has had this feature enabled for more than 3 months. The sooner you can roll it out, the better...

Microsoft, you are behind the times. Get with it. Teams means working with people of diverse languages everywhere.

Canada’s federal government has an Official Languages Act that ensures they provide services in both official languages (English and French) to employees and citizens. If something is not available in both languages an employee can launch an official language complaint against the government.
Here is information on the Official Languages Act that federal departments needs to abide by:
Minimum duties in relation to prescribed regions
36 (1) Every federal institution has the duty, within the National Capital Region and in any part or region of Canada, or in any place outside Canada, that is prescribed for the purpose of paragraph 35(1)(a), to
(a) make available in both official languages to officers and employees of the institution
(i) services that are provided to officers and employees, including services that are provided to them as individuals and services that are centrally provided by the institution to support them in the performance of their duties, and
(ii) regularly and widely used work instruments produced by or on behalf of that or any other federal institution
Wake up Microsoft! Six months has passed!!

Canada is an officially bi-lingual country - except Quebec that is French Province - we have many PS clients considering a move to Zoom from Teams, as they require simultaneous translation English/French to engage externally, as well as within the Public Service.
