Why can't i paste into meeting notes? it seems insane that the basic copy/paste function doesn't work for meeting notes.
I tried pasting basic text into the meeting notes function. not possible. how is it possible in 2019 that microsoft doesn't support copy/paste in an application? i can paste the same message into the CHAT but i can't paste into NOTES? are you kidding?

Same for the notes in the Teams assignments function. I want to be able to translate my notes into different languages and then copy and paste from the translator into the assignment notes. What is up with that? That is a pretty basic need.

Rubbish. Not a really feature-rich capability at all. No file import, no export, no cut-and-paste. Really rubbish. I don't advise using Teams notes. I'd take notes in Word and attach the file in a file space for the team.

Very frustrating to not be able to paste into Notes for a meeting. I've tried a simple copy/paste of text, a screen shot from SnagIt, & a portion of a doc captured in Snipping Tool. The right click in Notes only shows "Copy Cntl+C" Tried Cntl, Shift, V & that didn't work either.

Please Fix
When was paste invented, in the past, not in the future. Who tests these and certifies for release? -

This sort of behavior is a great example of why it is hard to trust these web-based desktop apps as a user. To be sure, Teams has a lot of good features but I can't really imagine something traditional like Word or Outlook struggling with this. Please fix this.

A previous comment works! It would obviously be better to simply paste but I was able to copy my meeting notes from One Note to Teams with this suggestion:

Ctr+C content in OneNote to Ctr+V in Word, Ctr+C whole content in Word, got to Teams Meeting Note and add random character, then ctrl+V -

This is insane, Microsoft needs to do something about this. I think it is more than 2 years and still haven't found a solution to this. Shame on you Microsoft

So frustrating. I like to keep my notes in One Note organized for my use, but also have the notes in the meeting that I just hosted or attended as the note taker. Taking notes in Team during the meeting is not bad, but you have to be quick. Someone anonymous below suggested pasting into Outlook mail then copying and pasting from that draft email to Teams Notes. Funny how that works, perfectly formatted with images and anything else that shows in an HTML formatted email!
Microsoft has such great products but it has always been clear that one department or team doesn't find out issues or from another team. We will go on in this forum for months for a simple fix that a coder forgot to put in the program.
FIX THIS MICROSOFT! You give your users no support and expect the users to solve their own problems in these forums. It would be better to have someone monitor this and take useful problems back to the team to fix it, then actually do it. Or should I just start using Zoom again and then email out my notes from OneNote?

Pasting the content from OneNote to Word/Outlook seems like a fancier way to remove the formatting.
It isn't immediately clear that the formatting/structure from OneNote is gone, since it has been replaced by (too much) indentation and custom bullets.
I had some luck pasting into Confluence and then copying that to Teams (perhaps turning it into RTF along the way). Still the need for additional conversion deters me from using OneNote.

Thanks John. The paste to Notepad, then copy and paste to Team Meeting Notes does work. BIG shortcoming for this tool, but it gets you there.

This really is laughable. If Teams is to maintain credibility, Microsoft need to rapidly work on turning it into a credible productivity tool. Not just a clumsy wrapper for SharePoint and Lync.

old faithful: paste into notepad which clears all formatting, then copy paste into Teams

I urgently need to find a way to consistently be able to copy and paste the whole transcription from the captions into a word document so I can develop them into a format to be the notes of the meeting (like the other commenter below). All it does it picks up about five (even when everything is highlighted). So frustrating and an absolute time waster. Please get this sorted urgently.

Seems a bit weird that it's not a/v.

It seems that I can paste text from Outlook/ emails into Meeting Notes in Teams, but not from OneNote. The workaround I've found is to copy from OneNote, paste in an email draft in Outlook, copy from the email draft, paste into Meeting Notes in Teams.
Someone else mentioned CTRL+SHIFT+V as a workaround, which works, but it loses formatting. Ridiculous.

I cannot imagine what would be the business reason for neglecting basic functionality here. We are forced to use this unruly mess of an application after coming off of Slack. I really miss Slack. However, I was able to finally do it by pasting into the chat for the meeting, right-clicking and selecting Copy Image, going back to the meeting notes, right-clicking and selecting Paste. So easy!

I need to be able to cut and paste the entire discussion available under MS Streams captions so I can then convert them into minutes of meetings. It will only allow me to copy parts of the meeting. Very frustrating. Captions should be cut and pastable without exception!

Annoying Microsoft. Even CMD+Shift+V does not work. This isn't another eco-system battle with Apple where you make your customers lives miserable and force them to buy a windows laptop just to get OneNote and Teams in general to work properly.
Can you fix it ?
