Meetings sent out from a Shared mailbox
Hello,
I noticed that when I create a MS Teams meeting on behalf of a shared mailbox it doesn't pre-populate the conference toll number or conference ID # to enable the invitees to call in and join the meeting through audio, they can only join in to view a presentation. It only prepopulates when the invite is sent out from my personal email. A lot of my colleagues don't have laptops/computer with built in microphone so we have to settle with being able to call into a meeting to get the audio experience

Same problem here. The corporate academy team is using a shared mailbox for sending out planned training meetings. Them are not attending by them self so its no option to send out the meeting from personal calendar.
But they are unable to set the correct presenter and other meeting options on the sent meeting, so this is not working as is needed.
there should really be a way to delegate a group of people to configure the meeting options on behalf of the shared mailbox

We run into the same problem and it is quite an issue. Hopefully this will be solved ASAP as it is a real limitation to MS Teams.

hi,
when I open a meeting calendar in my functional mail box and ask for Teams details, it appear - so I think this is solved - the real problem is after, to manage the meeting itself in teams, especially if you want to use breakout room.

Hi. Our users have been using shared calendars for many years. Please allow this functionality.

It would be great if the delegate(s) of the Shared Mailbox organising a Team meeting had Meeting controls like any Organiser

Hi
A another problem we can’t change meeting option after create reunion in shared calendar -

Also Meeting options should be possible to change. Right now, only the user account behind this shared mailbox (disabled user) could change meeting options (in fact, nobody can change meeting options). For shared mailboxes, all users with Full Access Permission should be able to access this link.
DialIn number and Conference ID should be added, if user, who creates the meeting, is licensed for AudioConferencing. -

The worst part about this not working is the Error message "We couldn't schedule the meeting. Please try again later." As far as I can tell this has never worked from a shared mailbox.

We have numerous shared mail accounts used for generic purposes and shared with multiple departmental staff for email and calendar. It is not an option for us to just convert them all to user accounts and license them. We have properly licensed the users who are creating Teams meetings that require a conference number. That license should be able to allow the user to create a meeting in whatever account they choose. This really limits the functionality of the Shared Mail accounts that work so well for every other purpose.

We just launched Teams in our 10000-user academic environment and we run into this as well.
The issue with creating the meeting in a private mailbox and then copy/pasting it into a shared mailbox's calendar is twofold:
1)the owner of the private mailbox (i.e. the management assistant) will be show as organiser during the meeting , which is not what you want since the organiser will likely not be attending the meeting. Thus no-one has organiser controls during the meeting.
2)Joining the meeting can only be done by opening the calendar item and clicking the link because outlook does not recognize the item as a Teams meeting. Right-clicking the item and directly joining is not possible. This might turn into a real problem if it is not fixed soon.

Our state agency commonly uses an Outlook shared calendar to hold meeting appointments. With Skype for Business, we would have to create the link (and phone) info in a personal Outlook calendar, copy it, close the appointment in the personal calendar without saving, and paste the meeting link info into the shared calendar appointment. This worked. We can do the same with Teams, but things like setting particular presenters cannot be done in the meeting options. Basically, the Outlook shared calendar experience is poor with Teams meetings, and we are discontinuing SfB soon. We need a solution that works.

Good morning, the problem that is being discussed is happening to us, but it has a nuance. When the meeting is created for very few people, it does have the link of the room to connect to, it is when it is sent to many people when it does not have the link. It can be partially solved if instead of using people one by one, a group of people is invited, since for the system it does not count person to person but as a single invitation. We agree that this must be resolved. Comment that during the months of confinement of COVID19, if it worked to be able to invite more than 100 people one by one and the link was sent.

We have recently gotten rid of Skype for Business meetings, which used to work very well. However, since switching to Teams - we are unable to create Meeting appointments directly in the calendar for the Shared mailboxes in question - which is becoming a real pain. At the moment we only have 10 shared mailboxes migrated, and another few thousand to do - so if this feature doesn't become available soon, or isn't fixed, it might cause to be a real problem for our organisation

We used a shared box for our interview scheduling. Due to COVID, most interviews are via Team vs in person. Not being able to send a Teams directly from that is a huge miss. Please help!

I operate our department's shared calendar/mailbox and it is really annoying that Teams meetings created in the shared calendar do not populate with the conference ID. We often have bandwidth and connection issues and people end up having to dial in to the audio on their phones and it would be really helpful for this info to be visible in the invitation, rather than people first having to click join. I create a LOT of meetings and it takes hours to create the meeting details in my personal calendar and have to copy them across to the shared calendar just to get the "proper" Teams invite format with meeting ID 🙄 Please can we have this feature working with shared mailboxes??
