Separate Notification Sounds Settings for Calls and Chats
“Notification sounds = Off” will disable all sound notifications, including disabling the Call notifications. What I’d like to do is to disable Mention and Chat notification sounds for example, but keep Call notification sounds. This can't be done at the moment as only 3 options are available:
All
Call, mention and chat
Off
We would need additional options to cover all use cases.
Thanks

This is a no brainier and it's absolutely incredible how primitive Microsoft's instincts are in this area. Call sound setting should have been separate from all other sound settings the day Teams was officially rolled out years ago now. A voice over IP situation has to have its own priority option at every level of protocol, from network to user interface. The company must have fired all of its old "Microsoft phone" developers and gotten out of touch.

Was wondering why my calls never rung and then I realised that I had turned off the sound by turning off notification sounds. Very counterintuitive as well as silly, there should definitely be a split between these two so I can hear my phone calls but not get plonged every time someone sends me a message.

that'd be a great feature to have. for now i have to keep it muted as all the sounds for messages are annoying.

How do we merge this other vote into this one to combine support for this enhancement?

Sound notifications for when participants join and/or leave a meeting should be individual user settings. hearing bleep bleep bleep while trying to listen to the meeting is disturbing the meeting flow , and we can miss content.

Now that we are using Teams for external (PSTN) calling, everyone in the company wants this.

Agreed - I don't need sounds for every message I get through the day, but I do need a sound for calls.

How about having disabling sound for just the chat notifications rather than another else. IT IS A HORRIBLE SOUND. Please fix it!!! Skype sound is so much better.

Fully agree. This granularity in the configuration of sounds is what I miss.

Yes, pleas cover all use cases. Seems not doing so in the first place was an error and as a Software Test Engineer I would have entered an Anomaly for the product and the Requirements if needed.

Agree with other comments, I would the option to use different sounds/tones as well as volume options. Same options as a cell phone - varied volumes, varied tones and customized for calls/messages as well as users.

Please add more options.
I can't focus when there is a discussion in a group and I'm beeped every few seconds, or when I have chat opened on one screen and work on another.I don't want to disable ALL notifications, because I don't want to miss calls.

Lack of notification options is wild! For me, I want a louder & longer chat notification, as we don't use it a lot, yet, but I have missed sound & "banner" for a bit - like when viewing vid with audio on other monitor.
Feel for and worry I'll be like others here if we go all in, relentless beeps, missing calls, etc. At least give options Skype has, as you try to replace it in the workplace.

This a an horrible lack of oversight on Microsoft part. I cannot conceive how a modern app does not have such basic functions. Having chat beeping in an office environment is a nuisance, but missing calls because ALL sounds are off is also a big workflow issue.
Its like people at MS has never used any other messaging app. Go try Discord, **** even FB Messenger has more options than an "enterprise focused" application...
