Away not automatically setting
I need to not be marked away when I am inactive for 5 minutes. Often I print items or am reading something and it marks me as away even though I am at my computer and can answer a message immediately. Let me set my away status or set a time.
At least Zoom will let you set it up to 60 minutes before it changes status to "Away." Unfortunately my company uses both Teams and Zoom. I will be on 2nd monitor reading reports/news articles, etc. for my marketing report or on a Zoom call ONLY to have someone message me through Teams saying "when you get back, call me" ... I'm sitting right here! It is so annoying and is about the only thing that will set me off during the day. I don't have time to keep looking every few minutes to hover my mouse over to say I'm available. In researching this, it has been a long-time issue with Microsoft Teams and for whatever reason, Microsoft has chosen to "ignore" the issue.
If I only had the authority to remove Teams and keep with Zoom which has the features Teams has only I can change my status to "Away" in an increment up to 60 minutes, which is a lot better than a few minutes the only option.
+1 for privacy reasons. If my boss writes down whenever he sees "away" he gets information he should not have

This is just so annoying - I don't know if it's related to Linux only (RHEL in my case) but definitely I need to move mouse over Teams window (it needs to be mentioned that I use Rambox app where I have multiple services).
Status behavior should be configurable, i.e., how long inactive until Away status, introduction of Invisible status (working on weekend, but do not want to be visible to others). Also, the status should refresh automatically once you return to your PC, you shouldn't have to do this manually.
I have friends in other organizations that complained about this feature (or lack thereof), which has made me very slow with fully converting over to Teams. I am sometimes sitting right at my desk but on a phone call, or using my remote desktop, and it goes to away status, which, after multiple times, can be perceived as slacking. I've used the command /available and it has kept my status green on my side after the 5 mins; I've also used the "busy" status; however, others are still apparently seeing "Away". I hate it! If this is to replace Skype, it should be adding features, not taking them away. Please fix!

Yes! This is very annoying that it’s fixed to 3 mins and then shows “away.” Reading something without moving your mouse = away. Go to fridge to grab a snack = away. Bathroom break = away. Etc. Etc. ...but if your light shows away people won’t generally message you and in all the scenarios above + 100 more, you would prefer to have your light green, and receive the message, because you are NOT really away, just inactive for a few mins. Need to be able to customize like Skype for Business.
I AGREE! We should have the ability to set how long we're idle until it changes to away. At least 30 minutes at a minimum!
