Allow me to bookmark folders/files and have a view called "Bookmarks" in the left bar "Files" section
I would like to be able to bookmark folders/files across different channels and have a centralized view to see them. It would be nice if I can go to the left bar > Files > and see a view called "Bookmarks"
This would be a great feature! To open all files in the browser first and then bookmark them is time consuming.
Project Managers love to make new and improved file structures for every channel we start. and in each channel/stream they all request updates to spreadsheets on milestones or data on monthly or bi-monthly basis. However you can't remember the path for 'that' project. I have resorted to keeping a cheat sheet for every new document they want us to update. this is time consuming and unreliable if they move the document or path.
So a bookmark function would be AWESOME.
but please make the document link like excel cell move, if someone moves the doc, please update the bookmark!
and could you add a Note field as well to be attached to the bookmark? or allow us to 'name' the bookmark?
Any movement on this? This would be a great feature to add if not....
This is really needed, crazy that this stream has been live for long long. Whats the plan Microsoft?
With a large team setup (>60 people), the folder structure of the files can get pretty large and complex. Which means I need to drill down about 7 layers of folders to get to the specific files I want to use. We NEED a way to shortcut to these folders easily instead of starting at the top level each time.
please add a feature like this.
Please add this feature. I am working across several different teams and unfortunately not all of them organise their files the same way. I would love to pin folders and files in a central overview. I can pin files using Delve but would love this right there within the Teams app.
I agree with all the below comments. I work within multiple teams and without favourites in explorer, I would waste hours every day. We're just in the process of migrating to Teams and I'm now not convinced it's the best idea.
Also - why can't you move files from one team/channel to another? Why only files? Loonacy.
Come on Microsoft, get it together
This is beyond crazy that it's not an option. Like so many in the forum, I work with a large number of teams and have used 'favourites' for years as a simple way of keeping those files I work on regularly easy to access. Now, in 2020, you can't do that??
Also Microsoft, why can't we move folders from one channel/team to another? That's another thing that's so wrong with Teams and I've only just started using it and in the process of migrating our company to Teams. Not sure it's the right decision now
Please add this. I am a member of multiple teams, and in each of those teams there are one or two folders, buried deep, that I come back to very often. I need a 'favorites' or 'bookmarks' list that will get me directly to those folders. I'm very surprised that this feature isn't present already!

Been asked today if this was poossible and was surprised that it's not.
oh yes, please!
This would be so, so, SO useful to me! I work within a team where I have specific sub-folders buried within the team's folder structure that I refer to multiple times a day. Having to navigate to them EVERY TIME is such an incredible pain. Baffling to me why a feature that's been standard in desktop folder structures for at least a decade is not an option here.

This would be truely a time saver and I do not undestand that this does not exist yet.
I know this only has a few votes, but if you asked the users I'd imagine that 100% of people who use teams to share files would appreciate this feature. It's just incredible this wasn't built in from day 1.
To work around I've got a list of exported URL's in a text file - it's like going back to command-line web browsers.
outrageous to me that this doesn't already exist.
I'm just dumbfounded that this isn't already there. It's such an obvious workflow

This is my most important "need" in Teams. In my organization, I'm a member of several teams, and it is often very difficult to remember which team's Files section a particular file I'm looking for is located. It would be most helpful if I could have one Bookmarks location to find files I'm looking for. It would be also helpful if that Bookmarks section would allow me to rename the Bookmark without renaming the file so I had a friendly name, like "File where I can find X information" rather than "SomeVagueFilenameSomeoneCreated".

Badly needed! I've been so pleased with the benefits of using Teams and I'm so close to being an "all in" Teams lover like I am a OneNote lover... except for this one thing. Files throughout the many channels that my company uses are very hard to find. The search option is great, but many of the files contain information
that is valuable/relevant to me, but since the entire file is not focused on that relevant topic, the file name is not one that is intuitive for me to search for later. So in these cases, the file is basically lost.
Frankly, I'm shocked that there are only 6 Votes for this. This seems like an easy addition. Please help us out!!
Absolutely! In my opinion, this is the single most useful feature that can be added to the current version of Teams. I have numerous documents I have to refer to that are spread out over a complicated folder structure, and having bookmarks would greatly simplify access and increase productivity.
