be right back status to automatically change to available
We recently switched to Teams and a feature I liked about Skype was if you set yourself to BRB and you returned and signed back on the computer, Skype would automatically turn your status to available. I work remote, and sometimes have to take a kid to school. I sometimes forget to change the status back.
Presence does not change from "Be Right Back" to "Available". Doing the same in S4B works.

Me too. Popping away from your computer for a few minutes is the very time you might then forget to change the status on your return so the old Skype function was really useful. The way it currently works makes it identical to "Appear away" so it's pointless. Mind you, I'd assumed it was just a "feature" in my organisation, which can't persuade dates to retain the UK format overnight so I'm endlessly confused about when things in Teams were sent/updated...
Plus 1 upvote... pretty crazy you have to remember to go and set it back to available, especially since there is the timed away message.
Currently transitioning from Skype to Teams in my org. Definitely noticing this lack in Teams.
Yes, this one please. We notice people unintentionally "stuck" in brb for hours ...

Teams also allows you to set an away message that will reset after a given time period. It would be nice if after that time period it could also set your status to away or available based on your current status rather than just clearing the status message and remaining on be-right-back

I also observed it today, even I want this feature, as Skype does it automatically
