Notifications using first word of displayname
Currently Teams is sending notifications towards other users when they are offline or unreachable. In those notifications the first word of the displayname is being used instead of the full Displayname or just the given (first) name. In large organisations this leads to very confusing funny situations. As an example we use as displayname the last name followed by a comma and then the first name.
So at the end you get notifications like Hi Van, Van has send you a message.
Same for chat notifications. In our case we use First Last for display name. This still causes problems if you are in a chat with people sharing the same first name. Say you are in a chat with John Jones and John Smith. Notifications say 'John' replied or reacted. You can't tell which John. It would be better to user full Display Name when space allows and user initials (e.g. JS or JJ) when space is limited.

Thanks Gerry, we're in the exact same situation displayname="Lastname, Firstname"
From my point of view this is a bug or how do say madebydesign.
Where is the sense having a displayname property and Teams does not care and cut the content?!
I would be so great when I have the possibilty as user to choose my personal view in Teams. There are all properties available, so why can't users set this in the setting if the want to have Firstname or lastname or displayname?!
For an international working company the displayname is always a pain, it never fit for all.
Hi, we have exactly the same issue. We get a lot of complaints from our users.
