Live Events: More consistent UX
I am trying to get my team to adopt Teams as its webinar platform, but the inconsistent UX for presenters and producers as well as for live events vs. meetings is a huge barrier to buy-in. For example:
- Meeting participants and Live Event presenters share windows by clicking on the share tray icon. Producers have a "share..." button instead. Since the producer will generally be the one explaining to a presenter how to operate the UI, this is a problem.
- In a meeting, anyone can share a window, desktop, or PowerPoint presentation. Shareing a PPT is by far the most convenient method, but this option is unavailable during a Live Event.
- Presenters' main window does not match either what attendees see or what the producer sees. Sometimes the wrong view will be outlined in red in the presenter's view. Since one of the main purposes of the Presenter role is to simplify the process for presenters, it probably makes the most sense for the presenter to see the same thing as attendees.
