lightweight version
Please make Teams app configurable as a lightweight tool (like Skype app) as Business Executives most of time only use for IM and conferencing but the app occupy entire screen

Opening laptop, waiting for widows to boot, see nearly all the ram resources are consumed where 700MB of it are for teams running in the background - exiting teams just because of it. Please make light version because the software turned very rapidly to be bloated. Simply keep Teams without all the gimmicks the PMs are constantly pushing to add. Thanks.

i7-8750H , 16GB of RAM and NVME storage and Teams still runs like a wounded dog.
Please give us a light version. -

Yes make teams lite i am a student and my pc cant handle it

Users could benefit from a lite client that focuses on exclusive functionality for chat and meetings. Lower memory usage would also be a perk.

Definitely in need of a lite version. Need a more skype like simple chat, we message all day long and teams takes up too much real estate on screen, takes too long to load, join meetings large icons... I get the wow factor but simple sometimes is better, at least give user a choice.

I own a startup and were using Skype for business extensively. Microsoft Teams is no doubt a great product, however 95% of its functionalities aren't being used by any of our employee neither our clients. All that we use is plain chat and meetings.
A lite version is definitely one of the best option out!
Microsoft teams with same minimal functionality of Skype would make lot of sense.

Indeed I have two linx 12x64 4Gb ram Tablet netbooks running windows 10 for my teenagers school work and this app is unusable on these devices as its just too cpu and memory hungry

Hello! I am a student in India with an entry-level laptop. Your basic specifications match my laptop. But still, Teams does make my laptop slower than usual. It uses 45% of the CPU in the background and it takes up to 2000 MB of RAM (My memory always would be a sky-high of 99 - 100%). Please make a lightweight version of teams or I would go ask the teachers to use Google meet because it is simply better and lighter. Hope you understand my plight and make one quick.

I am a student with a potato PC and I hate it when Teams doesn't even let WINDOWS 10 function
; - ;)Either do they make Teams customisable, or make a light version, or I just lose my faith in Microsoft products, xD!!!
Also Teams uses a LOT of internet too, using more than 1.5 Mbps, and even though HD call quality is ensured on paid plans by Microsoft, I can only JUST see my teacher's face and barely read whatever they write on the board. It runs at literally 240p, where is the HD quality you promise on 1.2 Mbps connections!?
Also when I start up Task manager it clearly shows Teams gobbling up all of the resources it can, even thought it doesn't need them. (EVEN MORE resources in the background! o_0)
Even my younger cousin who has a 1,000$ gaming PC (Specifications? MSI GTX 1650 SUPER VENTUS XS OC, not overclocked, with an i5-9100F, and 16 GBs of DDR4 2666 MHz RAM, with a motherboard running at a decent 3200 MHz) and even he experiences lag in Teams, and only Teams! Even photoshop doesn't put such a massive load on his computer; he has a 5 Mbps connection, which gives him the same 240p quality.
MICROSOFT WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? HOW LONG WILL YOU IGNORE US FOR? You are a surviving brand just because us customers buy your products, please, serve us with what we require, else we will leave, which will only make things miserable.
Thank you, please help us. Make Teams lightweight. I am sorry for my harshness. If I have been too harsh I am sorry.
Thank you if you actually do something for us, or at least send an engineer with some response; and I, if not all of us 15+, people, who are commenting on this, will be happy to see a response which literally goes like this: "ywi3g7sgzihe&9fjet(&(fj68t-th&d8sfRid+¢=f-¢uF&u7"
..from someone from Microsoft. Thank you so much, for me at least, everything else has been going fine so far with Microsoft products, this is one of the only problems I am experiencing right now.
Again,
Thank you.-A 14 year old student who has a very low end computer trying to attend school with it during quarantine.

Also I am using it within my company, and there's no functionality to Clear all chat available, except for individually going to each message sent, that is very time consuming, and there's no way of clearing the Activity logs,

Firstly I didn't understand for what good reason Skype for business is rolled out and this monster is being promoted. It consumes 10% ( I have 8GB RAM) of my system memory resources, yes it consumes 834 MB of memory just after login. This is really an awful communicator ever used. A really lighter version is required. Otherwise, going forward, people would need one machine to use TEams and other machine to do their work
