Vacation Accrual and Tracking
I would like to be able to use Shifts as a PTO tracking System.
Each employee should have a PTO and Sick Balance that is tracked in Shifts according to their accrual rates.
When they request PTO/Sick, shifts should show both the employee and the manager how this request will affect their balance at the time the PTO/Sick is taken so we know if they will be going negative or not.
Also when the time is approved by the manager their balance should be deducted.
This would make it almost impossible to go anywhere else for a PTO tool.

I don't think the current time-off functionality is useful without this feature. At the very least it should total the different time-off requests for a period of time by employee. But better would be an accrual bank with remaining time-off. I know that gets complicated, but without it we need a more robust system.
I just submitted a similar idea. I set up PTO tracking in Shifts. It works in terms of people submitting PTO time and populating the calendar, but I am very frustrated that there is no way to tabulate and keep track of how many PTO days have been used. This is pretty basic stuff Microsoft! As a result, we've not canceled our Slack account yet.

I join to the proposal. My manager recently commented to me that because the shift tool could not establish the number of vacations assigned per employee and that way they could deduct the days as they were requesting vacations and when they spent all the vacation days they would not be allowed to request more and that way keep track of all employee vacations

I agree with all others, please add this feature that shows the vacation/sick time available per team member.
This would be fantastic, without it we'll have to use a different app / a spreadsheet
still not in shifts ?
How can we plan shifts, add vacations but cant see how much vacations a certain person has taken..
please add this..
I can't believe this still hasn't been picked up. I think its because everyone calls it something different... leave tracking, holiday allocation, time off allocation. I've seen it called all sorts. We desperately need this functionality otherwise its off to buy yet another application from yet another vendor and yet another load of training.
This is a great and simple feature that easily bolsters the shifts app as an employee management application. Given that it already includes an avenue to request vacation and time off, it would make sense that it would also track accrued time off to make the approval process easier for Managers.
