Teams Contact sync with Outlook
Please make the contacts that show up in the calling tab to be synced with a persons outlook or global address book of sorts. It's annoying having to manage so many different contact books

I agree. It is shocking that Microsoft is not taking this issue seriously so to have it fixed.
I suggest that we all complain and say that we should not be charged for the Business Voice or Phone System license fees until they get this fixed properly.
A phone system without a proper address book/contacts facility is not a proper phone system.
It is disappointing that despite so many people raising the same concern about this defect and also over such a long period of time, yet, Microsoft has still not even responded to say that they are actively seeking to find a fix.
Microsoft- Could you please at least tell us as to whether you are going to fix this problem or not and if so, what the timescales are!?
This is a bug. It does partially sync some contacts, sometimes. For some users, it seems to work reliably, but obviously for many of us it does not. Even when it's "working," the function is severly limited. For example, for companies without a personal contact in Outlook (e.g., utilities, stores, pizza delivery), they just appear in Teams as "Name not available," which makes it impossible to find the relevant contact to make a call.
Please improve so that the Outlook contacts (when stored in Exchange) instantly and seamlessly sync with Teams for telephony support and ensure that the File As name always appears visibly in Teams for sorting and searching, so it works even if the contact only has a Company name or only has a Person name and no company.
We migrated to Teams for telephony to unify and simplify. This lack of integration should be fixed asap.

Our previous experience with PSTN telephony via Teams has been disappointing. The simplest functions of a telephone system do not work.

This is why I spent $$$ to upgrade my phone service and O365 licenses, only to find out it doesn't work. This is the "one integrated solution"? It looks like MS really designed teams for internal collaboration, not as an all-in-one communication tool.

As so many people below have said, it's really unacceptable that there is no unified, Global Address Book for Teams. This has existed probably, since LCS/OCS days... into Lync.. S4B... Now it's removed in Teams?! Doesn't make logical sense. Can someone please update us on when this will be added?
This is so fundamental that it is hard to understand how the product could have been launched without it.
Who do the developers imagine that we are calling if they are not Outlook contacts.
All Outlook contacts should be synchronised with Teams and they should be listed in accordance with the "file as" field in Outlook. They should optionally be sortable by first or last or company name.
Integrating Contacts with Teams would also help to display name of the person who is connected via dial-in instead of (difficult to identify) telephone number -- this would make my day!

Our manager gave the task to add all these business cards as contact in Outlook. How to explain to him that when he wants to call with teams he has to finally type the number and can't search for it by name in teams?

From a GDPR point of view not a good idea persons are registered in multiple lists.
Every user within our organisation has his/her own outlook contact list that sync with his/her personal Teams contact list. Instead we would like to share all contacts via a shared mailbox. It would be **really** nice if this shared contact list could be synced to the Teams call system.

We have office365 A3 subscription, and contacts in Outlook do already Sync to Teams. Under what circumstances does this not work?
Please, please can you ensure MS Teams seamlessly connects with Outlook contacts.

We just switched from S4B on prem to Teams as our one and only, full featured Communication Platform including a Cloud SBC as the gateway to Mobile and PSTN. Means: Our employees have only one app to "dial out" > MS Teams! ... and you want me to explain my company that they have to copy and paste Tel numbers from Outlook Contacts to the Teams Dial Pad? Come on guys, this is not a fency wish but a serious demand. Please implement a capability for integrating (better syncing) Contacts between Outlook and Teams.
I can tell you that the big up and coming competitor of Microsoft for telephany ZOOM has that feature. It is a 1 time setup and boom all my contacts in O365 sync seamlessly to the ZOOM interface. This is a critical component to an unified communications platform.
