Flag message for follow-up and automatically add them to to to-do
Currently each message has:
* save
* thumbsup
* Mark as unread
* Copy link
* Immersive Reader
options available in the upper-right corner. I'd suggest adding another.
Please could you add a "flag for follow-up" option. Clicking it should add it to a list of flagged messages that are exposed somewhere within Teams however the real value would come from giving us the option to have the message appear in Microsoft To-Do, thus the experience would be exactly the same as adding flagged messages from Outlook (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/using-microsoft-to-do-with-flagged-email-f90c37b0-4453-4756-a6d5-e2ef8d33b395). When someone marks the task in To-Do as complete then it would unflag the message in Teams (again, exactly the same as the Outlook experience).

Does someone know if there is a (temporary) solution to do this with MSFT Flow? Like... when I save a message in Teams, create a Task/Todo. Even better when it synchronizes, but this would be also very handy.

Agree. This a primary limitations vs email. Once I read something it is marked trad and has no priority vs all other messages. I need to mark for follow up and then see my marked queue.

The ability to flag items with a status would be extremely helpful: to-do, action item, pending resolution, resolved, expired, etc. The ability to track where something is waiting for me to do something, where I am waiting for a response from someone else, and when a particular topic is either dealt with (or no longer relevant) would be extremely helpful in not having items not get buried in the general flow of conversation.

I would also like to have the ability to have categories for the saved messages so you can used Getting Things Done style, eg Next Actions, Waiting For, Call etc

With so much of our day to day functions moving to teams it would be so helpful if we the ability to flag in Teams as we do in Outlook. I use that quite often in Outlook as reminders of what to follow up on that have a higher level of importance. It is frustrating in Teams that once you review the message it loses the boldness designating a new message and everything get lost with all of the replies. I am aware of the ability to save the message but that is hidden and not available to easily see. Maybe there could be a way to have saved messages in a note box that would stay on the screen. Please make this a feature that we could use.

I was about to post the same idea, so glad I saw this :) I will just add my comments here.
One recurring issue with transitioning people from email to Teams, is that Teams does not work as an inbox, so people who use their inbox as a GTD worklist, cannot organise their Teams messages in a similiar way.
Currently it's possible to save messages in Teams, which is a fairly neat way to flag a message for follow-up, but it's a bit basic and hidden.
I'd propose to integrate Microsoft To-Do or Planner so that a message can be made into a task. Similiar to the Outlook integration currently available with ToDo.

I am constantly copying and pasting key points into To Do for later, as I have a LOT of messages coming through for project work and support tasks. Making this easier would be a huge benefit to Teams. As To Do is the first and last place I check every day due to it's increasing usefulness.

I agree 100%. It's a real weakness in TEAMS, in my opinion, not to be able to flag something for follow up. Marking it as a favorite doesn't remind you to do anything on a specific date.

I like this. I'd just like saved messages to get their own list in the To Do app, just like flagged emails and Planner tasks do today.

This is a great idea. I just had to send someone a password in the clear, and had this same thought. Due to the persistent nature of Teams chat, that password will always be out in the open if someone scrolls back far enough. (Don't worry, I had her change the password right after that -- but still...)

I thought it would be great if i could flag and set a reminder on a specific message within a chat, private or within a team!, How about including a Delivery and Read status?
