Flag message for follow-up and automatically add them to to to-do
Currently each message has:
* save
* thumbsup
* Mark as unread
* Copy link
* Immersive Reader
options available in the upper-right corner. I'd suggest adding another.
Please could you add a "flag for follow-up" option. Clicking it should add it to a list of flagged messages that are exposed somewhere within Teams however the real value would come from giving us the option to have the message appear in Microsoft To-Do, thus the experience would be exactly the same as adding flagged messages from Outlook (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/using-microsoft-to-do-with-flagged-email-f90c37b0-4453-4756-a6d5-e2ef8d33b395). When someone marks the task in To-Do as complete then it would unflag the message in Teams (again, exactly the same as the Outlook experience).

It's necessary to somehow flag messages in Teams for follow-up, and integrate them into the Tasks ecosystem. How do people follow up requests appearing in chats and channels?

YES. This would be great. I was using the flags/bookmarks/saved function for a while for this, but that doesn't appear nicely in tasks and thus can't be made visible to anyone else.

Teams is very dangerous without a function to highlight chats similar to mail and old Skype with saved conversations in Outlook

This feature would be really beneficial. When a message requires an action, the message is easily lost in a chat trail

+1 on this feature. I love the overall office experience, but having a cross app tracking via follow-up flag would be amazing

I vote for an experience and workflow similar to the workflow with flagged emails from Outlook to To-do; "Flagged chat messages" going to a dedicated To-do list.
2 things:
- It defeats the purpose of current Teams "saved messages" (to be removed or merged).
- It's different than creating a new Planner Task from a Teams message, which is also needed. -

I surely would favour this feature!

I would like to flag "follow-up" for messages in Teams and as well see the follow-ups created in outlook to be visible in Planner and to Do

It would be awesome if I could flag something for follow up and have a nice consolidated list from within all the microsoft universe of what those things are that need my followup and the type of followup needed. I miss the consolidated task list that exists in Outlook. I do not wish to return to Outlook for all our internal communications but I do miss features that exist in it that do not exist in Teams.

Indeed very much wanted and makes perfect sense to have flagged emails in the new "Tasks by planner & To Do".

This is huge. As the primary BA implementing Teams in our Global org of 2500 I'm ALWAYS being asked about this feature. Please do consider. I mean it would make sense to include this feature since you're changing the Planner side bar app to Tasks. I could see flagged messages going to this location for checking off/reviewing.

This would be useful. This is a primary reason I prefer Outlook.

This would be such a useful feature. We struggle getting heavy outlook users to move to teams for internal conversations due to this.

Not having this is a major hurdle to move conversations from Outlook to Teams (where they should be). In Outlook, I use some keyboard macros to flag emails for follow-up with different levels of urgency. In Messages, there's really nothing comparable. While the Planner works for Channel discussions, there's nothing to keep track of Post happening outside of a Team.

This functionality would definitely cover a gap in my personal productivity system!

The most requested feature we get in Teams is the ability to "assign" a Teams message as a TASK. We currently have to set up planners for each Team, and manually add a task.
This leads to a certain amount of sprawl in our organization.
Ideally, if there was a message or conversation in Teams, I could click the ellipses and select something like ASSIGN TASK.
There is/was a third party app called To-Do that offered a similar ability, but it was somewhat limited to creating a follow-up for myself.
What is REALLY needed is the option to assign that to a person

Please implement this. Missing so many tasks at present

I use flags in outlook to quickly add E-mails to my to-do list that I don't forget to take action on them. Having the ability to do the same in Teams would help me a lot! Please implement it, thanks!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IMPLEMENT! I'm getting swamped by messages and can't remember what to come back too. Would also be nice to be able to assign some other label to it.
