Teams Live Events PowerPoint Support
Please add the ability to share/display a PowerPoint slide deck. Currently, this is only possible via screen sharing with Live Events unlike with Skype Meeting Broadcast and Teams Meetings (non-Live Events). This means attendees can't browser slide decks during a Live Event which is a very useful feature. This is noted as a limitation of Live Events while in preview, so just hoping it gets added as a feature. Thanks.

While it DOES suck that this doesn't work, I found a pretty easy "good enough" workaround: in Powerpoint, if you go to the 'Slideshow' tab, then 'Setup Slideshow', on the top left under 'Show Type', pick 'Browsed by an Individual (Kiosk)'. Then, when you go to presnt, it loads it in a window that you can leave open. Then just share that window within Teams.

While I don't agree with the ability for attendees to be able to browse slides, I was disappointed to find out you can't share PowerPoints within Teams.
We currently use Teams Meetings and share a PowerPoint, as we can take control from each other for our part of the deck.
This lack of functionality stops my team from using this for our show and tells.

I figured out a workaround.
1. Save ppt as a Google Slides presentation (it's easy to convert PowerPoint slides to Google Slides, just upload the ppt to Google Drive, open it, then save as Google Slides - https://business.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-convert-powerpoint-to-google-slides--cms-28971).
2. Install the Remote for Slides Chrome Extension (this gives you the ability to "Present with Remote").
3. Have the remote presenter go to https://slides.limhenry.xyz on their computer or phone, and enter the code that you're given after clicking "Present with Remote" in your Chrome browser. Another option is to install the Remote for Slides app, if they're using an Android. The presenter will now be able to advance the slides that the producer is broadcasting through their browser screen share in Teams. Voila! Hopfully that makes sense. :/

But it's a "live event" where the presenters drive the session, not a meeting. There is a difference.
If they really want to flick through the deck, you can rewind and pause as required.

Really need to allow the presenter and not the producer to control their PowerPoint presentation. Hope this happens very soon.

It is INSANE that this feature is not available in Teams Live. What an absolute oversight on their part. Just had Teams Live event scheduled that went off the rails due to making the assumption that sharing a file to collaborate on was possible as it is in a standard Teams meeting. Back to Broadcast until this feature is made available. What a shame

Oh to be able to get through a live event without having to hear the words "next slide please"... We often have a single deck that several presenters are using, but the producer is having to control the slides because it's screen sharing and not a pre loaded presentation

Producers should not be the ones advancing the deck. There should be a presenter in each meeting responsible for the deck (whether they present or not -- they're just there, doing the deck).

Please, what is the time plan to have this feature also available in Teams live event? It really is needed to replace skype broadcast.

This is a must have.

This is a big hurdle for us and our leaders who are presenting critical information together. We need to be able to advance slides easily during our large Town Hall meetings for staff, especially when leaders speaking are socially distancing and not in the room together.

I agree. Why would this feature be in Skype Meeting, Skype Broadcast, Teams Meeting, AND NOT Teams Live Event?
Let's get it fixed!

This is a big issue for Live Event presentations in schools; please address urgently.

This also gives the ability to show power point and video presentations for a real estate listing. During the COVID-19 challenge, many buyers have to shelter at home, but still need to shop for new homes based on company transfers, estate matters, etc., so this would be a great feature. Agents could post a link for an open house for anyone to view a new listing, then publish it in places like social media, email it to their sphere of influence contacts, etc., and then anyone can view the home at the time of the scheduled virtual open house.

This is desperately needed so presenters can navigate slides
